Matt Peterson has breed the Lightning Maroon Clownfish & he is selling 5 of them on E Bay. It is a 5 day auction & yesterday the bid was $3800.00, this morning it is $5100.00. With 4 days left what do you thing the winning bid will be?

Holy crap, I thought the McCullough's were pricey. Good luck with purchase, would love to see some Arizona versions...

That's crazy. Bob. Do you still have any midnights? If so can you save me a pair. The wheels have fallen off my tank while I'm gone and have heard that I have lost a lot of fish including my clown pair. If you can hold a pair for a few more weeks until I get back and get my QT set up. Thx

Wow, thats a lot of money for an aggressive clownfish! IMO, maroons need to be in a species tank or a fowlr system. They get to be really territorial and downright mean. I am surprised anybody, especially a breeder would ever want to purchase these clownfish. I just do not see the demand being very high for them. Do not get me wrong, I think the lightning clownfish patterns are really cool and its a big plus that they naturally associate with e. quadricolors! Thanks for sharing Bob.

^ Basically this. You can't pay the Maroon enough not to nip the **** out of your hands anytime you're working in the tank.

Too bad they can't breed the aggression out of them. The last one I had drew blood. He was like a pit bull that wouldn't let go! I still love em though.

$6,100 - anyone want to guess at the final price? 44 bids with 1 day left....crazy - someone is going to blow their own annual live stock/inventory budget.

I can't help but believe if ORA or SA want some, that they don't have other channels to get them through BZ without a public auction?

Note the winning bidder of both "interesting" fish is the same person.

Maybe, but they Definately would not have gotten the same price tag without the public auction. I doubt BZ is giving out any sort of deal, it did take over three years to get this clownfish to reproduce. Lastly, I have a hard time believing an independent buyer would spend that much on a clownfish.
