Mark- Does your get a bluish tip under high lighting?

If I remembered correctly, It developed over time. I do think that it is a coral that likes the light. Greg has his up top under one of his lights as well. What I like so much about this stag is that it gets an aqua blue color belween the coralites when things are really happy.

What the one on the lower left? Kindof yellow with pinkish tips? I really like that one..

Nice pics!!

no, the one right in the center with the blue base that fades to the intense green. I loved my piece, but lost it in a crash a couple months ago. Definitly have to get it back.

Thanks, I believe you are talking about the Paletta Pink Tip acro.

I have a coral that looks like this, but it was a wild colony. It was sorta Carolina blue under 10ks till the Vlamangi broke it in several places thrashing around with a seaweed clip.

Now that the remaining pieces are under 14k, it's back to the lime in the sky pics in the first post.

Is it the same??? It's closer to it than a slimer.

I'm so enamored with staghorns right now! This one has been a painfully slow grower for me. Most of the people I know that have it, say it grows fast for them:(

Karl, mine took awhile to take off. When I first got it, it just sat there and did nothing. It really did not even encrust and puddle out. Then one day it made the decision that it wanted to grow for me. :)

The piece I picked up grows fantastic. It happened to get some of the best real estate in the tank. The issue I am confounded with is that the majority of the coral (corallites and all) are a brilliant blue, like you described above. It does have green polyps and a green tint on the base, but this coral is just blue as blue can be

I made the assumption years back that the picture seen on reeffarmers was how it would eventually turn out.

Your quote makes me feel better that the blue-ish-ness is a sign of happiness. I am certain this coral is happy by its progress, just not the color I was hoping for..... Maybe in time....

Landlord, I have seen that coral turn mostly light blue as you described. I have found that it is all about finding the sweet spot lighting wise. Right now I am having a hard time getting any blue out of it. :(

roktsintst - Now that is what it's supposed to look like! My problem migh! be the bulbs. Maybe it prefers the 250 watt Radium better than the 400 watt. Mine always looked like yours prior to moving up to 400 watt bulbs.
