thanks. QT is pretty easy for them.

I dip in lugol and bayer. Bayer for all the easy stuff. Lugol for any coral with cuts or new frags..

afterwards I put them in this tank. About to seal it off for 3 months fishless QT.

after that, I will frag the corals off the plugs and glue them into the DT.

then more shopping and more QTing

Sounds good!

Although your lack of delicious SPS is suspect :bounce3:

I am going to visit Will Bustayanky soon.. going to chop his collection hahaha..

got 2 more frag racks in the mail. saved the top shelf for SPS

one thing I've been trying to figure out is how do I glue zoa to rocks on the sandbed... I may need to go inside the tank for that? gluing these slippery zoa frags without a plug is not going to be easy

Just glue them to rubble rock instead of frag plugs.

Should be ok. I use a 20 mm scalpel to cut zoas and you can use tweezers to hold the frag till it attaches to rock. I've recently tried Ecotech Marine glue and it bonds much faster than anything else I've tried.

thanks. I'll try that in the QT first. grow them out

I bought those 2ft long tweezers. I need to stand on a ladder, probably lay flat on top of the tank, and then try to reach the sandbed with that tweezer.

if the flow blows that zoa away, it's gone... lol

Good choice on the salt man, Fritz has been rock solid for me. The chemist for Fritz was at RAP, I should have spoken with him more!

Got a generator too, I see. What are you planning on powering with the generator? IME, the non inverter generators tend to be a little louder so I don't know if noise is an issue especially if you're running it at 2 in the morning.

when you share your generator with your neighbor i don't think they mind

I like the snowboard in the background. let me know when you want to meet up and ride!

thanks! I just setup the car yesterday for snowboarding. Going to Mammoth in 2 weeks. I'll be at Skidazzle this weekend shopping for more gears.

Cali weather! beach and snow ready

I got this one fairly cheap from Jeffrey after he sold his tank stuff. I was going to use this to power my TV and some entertainment system during lights out. Maybe I'll put the return pump and heater on too.

IME my neighborhood only gets black out during scheduled maintenance or rolling black out. They typically take 12hrs and my tanks have gone through them without issue.

I do plan to get the Testla wall battery as soon as they become available. That should last me a day with solar charge.
