Madagascar Ritteri en route

Mag

Mag

Is this true? I have Kessil A360WE should I run the light a full power or lower it?

My Mag loved the high light after QT, never moved, never needed acclimation to the 52's on a relative high par. I would try 50-75%, and ramp up to reduce chances of it moving if concerned.

If it stays looking like that pic after a half day of arriving, treat it.

Ok so we're looking better today. Mouth is inside out looking and seems to be closing. Has not deflated so I'm assuming that's good, getting tons of flow and tons of light. My next question is this. DD shipped it attached to a ceramic 4x4 tile. How the heck do I get it off that tile? I put the tile in the area I'd like it to stay but now what? Lol

Can you place it right below where you want it to be? If so a healthy mag will climb as high as it can get to get more light.

Absolutely do not try to pry it off the tile, particularly while it is acclimating. I have had success in the past by partially shading the animal so it moves towards the light, and off the tile.

On the fence about treatment still. I think it looks like #5 on the chart. What do you think?

Looks pretty good in the photos. As long as it's not doing the inflate/deflate cycle thing, you can probably hold off.

Got home from a trip to The Coral a Reef and now it looks like this. Deflated

I would probably treat. I purchased one from DD about a month ago, and it began the inflate/deflate cycle after a week. I treated it for seven days with Cipro (100% water changes per day), and it has been healthy ever since.

Good luck.

Started 250mg Cypro today. I would say the nem is at a 5 on the scale. Is there a good chance of saving it?

I think it has a good chance of survival. My Mag looked very similar to yours when I decided to treat. IME, if treatment is to be successful, the nem will begin to improve within 48 hours.

i'd like to make a footage of how gyre works to push the ritteri to move very naturally

it's very powerful but not like traditional pump just like blow off the ritteri

Ok so it's been 48 hours of treating this nem in 10 gallons of water with 250mg Cypro and I'm not sure it's helping. It looks pretty deflated on a regular basis, mouth still open with insides exposed, shortened tentacles, and now today it seems to be not as responsive to touch and less sticky if that makes any sense. What am I doing wrong? Is there any hope? This is what it looks like with the power head running.
