Magnifica went through the powerhead...

My magnifica went through the eductor on my return line. It had been walking around for a few days and it finally got caught in one of the eductors for the returns. The tentacles are a little torn up and I'm not sure what to do. I know a dead nem can nuke an entire tank and I don't want to risk loing everything in my tank so should I keep it in there a few days and see how it does or just bite the bullet and take it out.

will probably be okay, assuming whatever issue (water quality, lighting) that has it walking around doesn't lead to its demise.

I had the same.happen to a rose aneome on a seio1100 and half its tenacles and part of foot was gone...but it manage to survive and regrow itself. ..they get hardy after some captive living...

for going through what it did, doesn't look that bad... I would watch the clowns so they don't over love it while the nem recovers. They can do more harm than good until it is healthy again.

Thanks for the responses. How could I prevent the clowns from loving on it? That thing is like crack to them. They were in it the minute it hit the water and haven't left 8+ months later. Hoping for the best.

Good question, if they are really beating up the Mag, you can just separate the clowns, or the Mag whichever is easier. If the Mag is taking it and not declining, I would be inclined to leave it be, but that's just me.

Water quality as in parameters, flow isn't going to insure low nitrates, proper specific gravity etc. If it's wandering around it's not happy with something, flow, nitrates and lighting are the first things that come to mind as likely culprits.
