Maricultured SPS

So I bought 3 frags from a local club member who just got them in, dipped em and all.

Put them at the bottom of my tank, letting em be since they were probably going thru shock. My Hokiemi Acro isn't doing the greatest. Aside from my lack of flow (which I just added an MP10 to) it is turning white from bottom up. I'll do a test on my params soon. My Cerealis acro has polyps that are starting to sort of show. Everything else has no polyp extension except for at night I see the stag horns polyps out near the end. But anyone know anything about Maricultured corals to aquariums?

This is normal sometimes especially like you said because of the shock in going into another tank. Are you guys running the same lighting? Also get in touch with him and fine out what his water parameters are like. They will get better as long as you stabilize them.

As I got there, he had the box of corals in his tank which were put in the probably a day if that prior.

Also he was using T5 where I am using a Radion

Sorry to see you losing a piece.

Typically the corals come in strong. The biggest problem is the dip as the corals are stressed then dipped and put in the new tank. I think you said you were using revive when dipping in this product it needs to be a fast dip with basting or it can burn the coral. Im betting this is what happened. I have lost several corals this way with even short baths. If there is any flesh left it will come back this happened to my a. aspera and a. yoguei the aspera died but the yoguei came back. Let me know I can get you another one at cost when we order again. Good Luck

Your question about maricultured corals is pretty vague, can you be more specific? That middle coral is on its way out, I'd try and frag a piece of if above where it is receding and at least try and save a frag. What are your parameters? Do you have other SPS? Probably not lack of flow related, probably more parameter related. Either way, with mari-cultured or wild corals that are stressed, you are taking a gamble. Even with spot on parameters, not unusual to see a piece go up in smoke for no apparent reason.

Yup I would either glue it or frag it asap! Both work well and I have saved many rtn acro with super glue.
