Marine Velvet

I recently acquired several fish all from the same tank, one of which has a
severe case of Velvet from what I can determine. The others don't seem to be
affected and all are in quarantine. Has anyone successfully treated velvet
and if so what was your course of treatment. The serious one is a large
Sailfin tang, the others are a Scopas tang and 2 Pajama Cardinals. TIA for
any help.

Copper . Since amyloodinium is very fast agressively attacking gill tissue and lethal, you may wan't to do a fresh water dip(1 to 3 minutes) first. It may help in reducing some of the"velvet" dinoflagellates that are not yet embedded in tissue. FYI since this parasite is an algae it is relatively small and can be killed in the water column stage with a uv sterlizer.Cryptocaryon "ich" on the other hand is a larger protozoan and requires higher levels of radiation for lethality(an oversized sterilizer.). Another possibility ,although unlikely in a tang is brooknella which requires a formalin dip.
Good Luck
