Marineland Marine series tanks

Thanks, When are you supposed to be getting your tank in?
Does anyone know what the cost is to have Marineland to drill 5 additional holes in the bottom for a closed loop? I have an OM unit that I would like to utilize.

I'm planning on mimicing the Marineland hood with a few modifications. I'm waiting for my last Lumenmax elite reflector to come in so I can size everything up. I plan to run 4 - 6' VHO actinics in the hood as well. I have plans for to automate the hood but it isn't in the budget just yet.

One thing that turned me off to these tanks were the overflows, with a tank that's 3 feet wide that gives plenty of ample side viewing space, not to be uglied up by piping. Although I guess you could put something over the side to hide it.
Ok I lied it didn't turn me off completely... just the seeming exponential increase in price the further you get away from where they make them does

You can easily fabricate a lightweight panel to stick over the viewing side to cover the PVC. I intend to do so down the road. It will stick on with velcro.

when you get the lights on could you take an upclose picture from the front and then the side. I am trying to decide on having a tank made with starphire or not. I am waiting to see what price the marineland tank comes it at for starphire on 3 sides as a peninsular tank.
I have two more weeks till I close on the house and place the order for a peninsula 300g with 3 sides starphire.
what kind of lighting are you guys using for the 300's? i was thinking of doing custom luminarc style reflectors with 2(reflectors would be 30x30) or 3(reflectors would be 20x30) 400w's with a row of t5ho's down each side.
