I've been using the Hannah

Maybe you can tell me what I am doing wrong tomorrow.

what's going on?

key: make sure there aren't any fingerprints/oil on the cuvette! And no bubbles in the cuvette

we'll check it out tomorrow

After multiplying it by .33, its telling me my PO4 is .19. I have a feeling that might be a little high.

why are you multiplying it? I thought the reading is in ppm already? have you measured the po4 of your reactor's effluent?

Like I said, I know that I did something wrong. If not my PO4 is .59. Isn't that about right for bringing out the true colors of your acros

I was feeling a little ill today, so I decided to stay home. Luckily, I just happed to have 40 gallons of SW made up. Since I was doing some maintnaince, I also cleaned out my reactors and put in the new CGAC from the filter guys. :D

Mark, totally unrelated, can you connect the D40 to your PC to view the "viewfinder" in realtime, before you snap the shutter?

Zero out the meter, add the reagent and swirl for 45 seconds. There will still be particles of reagent in there. dont worry about that, the read timed will give it 3 minutes to fall to the bottom.

I wondered about the multiplication of the reading... I asked around and was told to go by the reading on the meter...

Thanks. I only swirled it for a couple seconds. I will give it another go later on today.

Sorry to hear about your troubles.

and dude, your tank is BAD AZZ!!! Future TOTM, for sure! People, his pics just don't represent just how beautiful his tank is. It's a definite showstopper :)

And thanks for sending me home with some goodies ;) Much appreciated!

Thanks a lot Terry. My tank is not TOTM worthy and it will never be TOTM worthy as its just a fish tank with some swimmers, sticks, plates, and buttons :D

Anyways, We had a good time at dinner last night. My wife even commented that she had a good time listening to us "geeks" as she puts it. I was kind of worried when we started dropping skimmer prices openly though :eek2:

I remember what the 5th ones were; they are some peach palys that I have had for a couple years. The other ones were rose nebulas, pink zoot suits, bam bams and dragon eyes. Next time, hopefully your tank will be ready for some sticks :)

soooo humble!

geeks? we prefer "hobbyists" :lmao:

I will make a spreadsheet for my frags and list who I got them from... zoas - Marko9 :p

Its amazing what you can tell about your own tank. I noticed that some of my colors where "off" lately and I was afraid it might be my PO4. I was telling Terry and Jim that something was off with my colors on Friday. Needless to say that I was reading my elos kit wrong and my PO4 has been off the charts. It is probably binding into my LR and that is why I have been fighting my algae woes.

When I got my new hanna, I thought I was doing something wrong to give a false reading. I was, kind of. When I tested out at .59, my PO4 was really .59. I did a wc and tested this morning comparing my test unit to a friends and it tested at .47. I came home and did another 20%wc and the new test results were

I stopped feeding pellets last week and I stopped feeding flake yesterday. I guess I have been concentrating more on my fish lately instead of my whole reef. I am going back just to feeding my "special recipe" and nori for awhile. I have 2 more 20% wc's planned this week.

I was amazed to see my PO4 as high as it is. :eek1:
