Just and FYI, but if you ever get a bunch of off readings with your meter, you may want to check out your particular batch of regents. There have been some issues as of late with a few bad batches of regents giving off results.

^^ Thats interesting!!! Maybe time to call hanna?

Bummer if its working right though bro!! I hope you can get them down over the next few days!!!

I used the same sample in my meter and Tim's meter. It was the exact same. We also retested using his older reagent; it was a little lower, but nothing to write home about.

Jim- I was actually happy to see it where it is now. My reactor was clogged with a ball of chaeto and I have no idea for how long is was plugged. The last time I checked it was two weeks ago. The biggest concern I have is dropping them to fast and the corals will stn, rtn, or bleach. No bueno.

I'm talking significantly different readouts when you test two or three samples in a row. There is a list kicking around on RC somewhere about which regent batches were suspected to be off. an RC member did attempt to contact Hanna about the regents, but never reported back as to their success.

Either way its nice to see those numbers drop so quickly with WCs.

If you happen to come across that link, please copy and paste me a link. Thanks again.

The off lots were determined to be #42, and #48. Here is the original thread with the discussion. There was also some similar discussion on my home board and we pretty much came to the same conclusions as the thread here on RC.

Glad your PO4 is getting better. I should probably test mine also. I never test it.

I usally feed Nori, PE Mysis and brine. but its the cyclopeeze flakes that i feed that scare me.

Looks like a cool meter

Pellets are what scare me. Whatever doesn't get cleaned up by your clean up crew seem to hang around forever, taking at least a few days to break down. I feed nori, and a homemade food mixture; various meat foods, vitamins, more nori, etc. I make it so you can actually clip it onto a clip and feed it in sheets.

guess i am good there. i dont feed pellets. just the cyclopeeze flakes. Think i really need to look into a couple of these home made recipes

:mad2: My lot is 048. Looks like I will be calling the Dr tomorrow.

Thanks for the help. It is much appreciated.

No problem. I'd double check though. Try doing 3-5 tests in a row and see what you get for results. Maybe if you could post in that thread, just so we have a running list please.

Definitely call about your reagent. remember i thought it might be your reagent? what's your plan for replacing your PO4 media? do it slowly! did you ever measure the PO4 in the effluent coming out of your reactor?

Terry- I never did get around to testing it the output of my reactor. I wanted to learn what I was doing wrong first. I already replaced my media on friday. That is when I learned everything was plugged up. I plan on getting some more media this week and continue to replace it every two weeks. This along with the new GAC I am trying and aggressive water changes, I think it will help out my issues.
