maroon clown pair question

Hi RC citizens,

I bought 2 maroon clowns yesterday.

White bar maroon. Was housed by itself in LFS. Maybe 2.5 inch &
Gold bar maroon. Was housed by itself in LFS. Maybe 0.75 inch.

I placed them into an empty tank all by themselves at the same time.

No fighting. No biting. The gold bar will swim to the side of white bar.
The white bar does not seems too interested or care.

They sleep at different places last night.

They would swim togther and then split up, and so on.

There are no twisting from either clowns.

So, do I get them to pair up now ?

Please advise.. thanks

That is really up to them. Since they are different sizes, the larger one will most likely be the female and the smaller one will be the male. That is if they pair up.

They have to be the ones to choose though.

BTW, they do not like marriage counseling so do not even try it.

Usually the larger female will tear into the male pretty good right away if she refuses him, sounds like you'll be fine.
They will become more attached/same sleep area as time passes.

Lights out.

And I see both of them sleeping together under some dug out sand at the base of a pipe-tube that I placed.

However, earlier this evening, I saw the gold bar mostly at the dug out, while
the white bar is out and swimming.

Thanks for the encouragement. Hope they paired up and live happily ever
after.

Now, I need to find a Allardi pair, or a Akindynos.. that is my next goal.

thanks again.
