Maroon mating with Domino?

Here's an update on Domino Damsel and Gold Stripe Maroon clown pair, apparently they're both female

The Domino laid eggs on the silicone seal of tank yesterday and has been ferociously guarding the area as well as rubbing against the eggs very frequently. She's starting to eat them today. This is the second time I've noticed these white eggs. About 2 weeks ago there were some on the opposite corner, they were on the silicone seal just as these are.

I use a Salifert test kit spoon and feed one heaping spoonful of a mixture of small Ocean Nutrition Formula 1 and 2 Marine pellets 3 to 4 times a day.

I was going to point out that maroon is the male based on the first picture I saw :) Females usually have incomplete bars (they get that with age).

Eggs look fertilized in the first pic.

I wish I had noticed this string earlier. With those clown eggs looking fertilized it would have been a great idea to remove the rock with the eggs and place them in small tank with nothing to eat them once they hatch so they would not all be lost before confirming.

Would it not be more likely that the clown, a species that can change from male to female has the ability to fertilize her own eggs, chromosome number being different between the damsel and the clown would be a high hurtle. Either way it would be a crazy oddity.

You are really doing something right with these fish both spawning.

Side note, dominos can get big, over 12." No oddity there.
