mated pair of Tank bred Maroon Clownfish and mated pair ofBlack SaddleBack clownfish

Hi All,
I have a question/idea about TWO Mated pairs of clown fish.

The first mated pair is : Black Saddle Back Clownfish (Amphiprion polymnus)
The second mated pair is:Gold Stripe Maroon Tank-Bred/Raised (Premnas biaculeatus) biaculeatus)

Which I have in there own individual tank systems as I type..I was thinking of placing both pair in one larger tank.( 150 gallon) which has been cycling for 3 months now at the same time.. I know maroon clowns are the most aggressive clown there is and the black saddleback clown is semi-aggressive..
My thought on the subject is if they are all introduced at the same time there wouldn't be any conflict over territory but this would just be left to chance of course..:headwally:

Any thoughts, comments and concerns on the idea are welcome..

I wouldn't do it. If your tank is 6' long, and you they tend to hang out at opposite ends, you may be able to do it.

I agree with Nirvana. If you have a 6' tank, and had quadricolor on one end of the tank, and haddoni on the other, it may be doable. There are no guarantees though.

I've had 3 true percs in my tank now for two years (due to an error on the part of an online vendor - they told me they weren't going to ship any because they were out of stock, so I picked up two locally... then they shipped one after all). Two of them paired up and are hosted by my LTA. The third one is hosted by my RBTA, which is about 3 feet away (6' tank). By and large they leave each other alone, even during feeding.

Others have very different results... I suspect whether or not more than two in a tank will work is largely a function of how well the tank does at providing them with separate areas to call home, and in particular separate anemones.

Caveat: The pair hasn't tried to breed yet. How well it works could change should that happen.

(BTW - it took A LOT longer for the lone one to come to be hosted by the RBTA than it did the pair to be hosted by the LTA. The lone one lived in a corner of the tank for over a year.)

I would think they would conflict eventually, if you add anemones down the road they will probably fight over that. Even if it works short term, it's eventually going to be a problem long term.

That depends on the species of anemone. If they had quadricolor and haddoni, the clowns would not fight over the anemones.
