Mike's 200g

Biggest coral in my tank... My efflo.

You can see the original size I got the coral, it's the slightly darker green center. The new growth in my tank was a little lighter in color. It has almost outgrown its available space now.

Wow...that is awesome. Frustrating coral to prune, I would imagine. The sensible thing would be to get a bigger tank to put it into:wave:

I could not bring myself to prune it. To me it's so perfect and any attempt at cutting it just seems like it would ruin it, and seems wrong for such a great piece of coral. I will have to find someone who I know will be able to keep it alive and has a monster tank with room for it. Will be a sad day for me, but I just couldn't cut that coral.

I agree.. I don't know how you'd prune it.
Too bad Mo isn't close by..

Wow Michael, your tank is spectacular! I love the rockscape, I love the layout of the corals, and the color is outstanding.

Mike, I have been having good success with dipping AEFW infested pieces in tank water with raised potassium levels. I use Potassion to raise the level to 1500 or so based on calculations and have actually gone even higher. It doesn't just stun the worms, it kills them- After a few seconds they are dead and can be blown off. The nice thing is that the potassium doesn't have to be carefully rinsed away like other dips.

Other than a little sliming, no ill effects on any coral I've dipped with just the potassium.

Nice find! I'll try to remember this! :D

You, me and my dremmel would take care of that gigantic efflo Mike although if things started going badly i'd probably bail on you....

Every time i look at your beautiful display i have to remind myself that you do it with bloody LED's........... i have no idea how you do it but you most definitely do do it Mike :)

Beautiful monster Efflo, I understand completely not wanting to cut it. I have one recovering from being used as a frag whore which will take some time to return to glory but worth it if I can get it to look 1/2 as good as yours :)
