I love this thread! it's such an inspiration.

Does anyone remember a tank that looked like a bonsai tree? It was pretty small from what I remember, and it was just a rock with, I think, a few torches as the "branches" and I think it even had GSP's on the bottom for "grass".

I just looked through this entire thread (not that I minded) and I didn't see it. If I didn't see that tank here, I dont know where I saw it!

I'd like to show my husband to convince him that I need to set up a nano :D So any help in locating a pic of that tank would be great.

DONE. Now the question is does this make me in?

I posted my tank earlier when it was just 2 pillars, here's an update:

I plan to cover the overflow box with black acrylic.

Uhuru... AWESOME!  I've actually been considering an NPS tank as well. Very inspirational.

Awesome is an understatement, do you have a build thread? I'd love to see what goes into running a tank like that.

Yes, its been a long journey and thus a long thread but here it is:

It all started with an Elos Mini that was also quite minimalist in approach but became overstocked too quickly as I became addicted to these corals. Many of the corals that you see have thus been with me for over a year. Most of what goes into the tank is planning. I don't spend any more time on it in day to day maintenance than the average SPS keeper. Things have come a long way.

For lighting I use:
1 ATI Aquablue Special
2 Giesemann Pure Actinic
1 KZ Fiji Purple

The bulbs are overdriven by an Icecap 660 ballast. There are a few corals in the tank that need the light, including some green palys both on the top rock and close to the sandbed (hidden), as well as a leather coral hitchhiker near the bottom (also hidden from view). There is a spiral wire coral that may or may not need the light which is on the sand bed. That being said most of the corals do react to the light.

serp, your tank looks very yellow (in a good way) is that the pic or does it look like that in true life? If so what bulbs do you burn?

i love the minimilstic rock look too! i have a 220 w about 120lbs of rock in it. which isnt much rock i have it spread out in pillars so it looks like much more rock than it is really is, but i think im gonna change it real soon!
corey
