I think Millhouse means that you missed the point of Paco's post which I agree. Some tanks are just plain empty. Most likely cause they are new tanks and rock is expensive. But for the sake a true minimalistic aquascaping those tanks are not.

Thanks. I thought by chance that maybe he'd re-read the original post and understand. Guess I was wrong, lol. The thread is minimal "aquascaping". Aquascaping can be an art, kinda like landscaping. I could put two bushes in my yard and that doesn't mean that it's minimally landscaped.....just means I have two bushes, lol. Now if I put a minimal amount of foliage but it's well thought out and developed....that's a different story. I think it takes a lot to pull of a nice minimalist aquascape. There are some in this thread that are merely tanks with just a little rock. I'm not trying to start an argument, just calling it like I see it.

edit: An example would be Sirjohns tank. He doesn't have a lot of rock but he picked nice pieces and put it together in a well thought out manner. Once he adds some coral I'm sure it'll look wonderful.

I got what he was saying the first time. He basically trashed some peoples aquascaping abilities, which I find a bit rude. It takes guts, obviously, to post your pics on this site and risk ridicule... from who? There's just no need. You can be constructive and make your point better without putting people down. Plus, you can do a lot with coral and eventually it doesn't matter what the original rock work looked like.... do you get the point? Maybe you should go back and re-read my original comments before flaming me.

I posted a picture of my tank earlier in this thread. When reading the title I took it as "minimal rock work" or "low key", not as a artistic view as minimal aquascaping. I maybe wrong in posting my tank. Either way it is each their own. Some may not belong, some may. That is up to opinions, but be constructive in why one tank may not be and another is, and try not to put people down.

You win....you are obviously right. Every tank in this thread is perfect. No point for him to try to give advice. Hope you sleep well tonight, lol.

I don't really care to see your gallery, nor comment on your suggestions because I don't care.

You called me out, that's why I'm responding.

Actually, he said they looked terrible, I don't find anything valid in cutting down peoples aquariums.

I feel I have contributed my opinions on aquascaping, and if you actually read my posts you'd see that.

Next time read before you write....... oh yeah, flame on!

P.S. Nice edit, not quite as embarrassing.

another possibly good thread off track, enough is enough lets post some more pictures

I agree, bud. There's no room for arguing, especially on a minimalist aquascape thread.

On with the pictures!

I think it'd be neat if people with newly setup tanks could post their rockscapes, and throw out ideas for what corals would look neat, and where. We could all give our ideas.

I'll start (without picture though). I am setting up my Solana soon, and will have a nice arrangment of rocks on the left, back corner (not too high) where I'll have a number of corals perched on the rocks.

Then, in the front right corner I'd like to have a flowly LPS like a torch/elegance/bubble on a very small rock (or in the sand, depending on species). I feel when that piece of coral grows out it'll really look amazing and give good contrast.

Im surprised no one with mantis tanks have posted any pictures. I have seen a few mantis tanks that would fit nicely here.

Here's mine:

4X- 54W Blue Plus T5 HO (ati)
2X- 54W 10000K AquaSun T5 HO Fluorescent (uv)

I'd say it looks a little too yellow right now. I'll probably switch the Aquasun's to Blue + soon

heres mine. I have at least 8-10 inches on each side of the rock to the glass.
