Missing Frags from R-A-P

To All that attended R-A-P:

The guys @ So. Cal. Creations were holding onto a few frags for someone. The tub was pretty warm (one of the frags had already bleached and the water was pretty scummy looking).

I took the tub over to the SCMAS booth ran by Steve (Laverda?). I set the tub in his tank to cool off, then changed out a little bit of water. I left it w/ the So. Cal. Creation guys and went back to my booth (InlandReefs.net/ IEMAS). Well they came and dropped it off w/ when they were packing up. Steve (So. Cal) mentioned that they no longer have a tank, so they wouldn't be able to keep them anyway.

I acclimated them as soon as I got home and placed them on a little rack in my tank. They don't look so good :( .

Frags included- Orange Cap, and 3 small SPS frags (sorry I'm not too keen on SPS nomenclature).

Well, I guess the purpose of this post is to inform whomever is missing his/ her frags, that they weren't stolen.

I did my best to keep them shaded (after they were in my possession).

I can post some pics upon request. If they survive, I have no problem returning them to their rightful owner (who ever it is) ;) .

Thanks for trying to help.

Last year, someone left a box of primo and super-expensive frags. When we were cleaning up at the end everyone thought the box belonged to someone else. I don't know if those frags were ever claimed or not, or if they ended up as raffle items at meetings.

Noone told me.... At least we found them....No worries, I told the guy who bought them to bring a cooler with him next time.

That was a frag pack of common frags, so no big deal. I expected him to come back sooner than he did.

Remember people these are more than colored rocks, they are living animals, and it was hot that day....

TAKE YOUR PURCHASES and take care of them, always bring a cooler to put them in, especially if it is a hot day....

I didnt have a tank, letting them sit in on the ground even in the shade for 4 hrs is not good for the corals.....

Although its nice to get out and meet the reefers, corals tend to die off pretty quick in the July/August swap meets.

My solution is: Don't have a Reef-a-polooza event in So Cal during the summer at 100 degree temps. Have them in Seattle in the summer at 70 degree temps! :D

Seriously though, missing all of you at these events. Makes me wish I could have snagged a cheap flight down. Sorry to hear about someones loss though.

Actually the weather was nice that day. I think in the low 80s. However I was concerned on the frags that were sold in the small cups direct in the sunlight. Im sure the temp in those things can reach 90+ degrees

SCMAS had two 55 gallon drums of fresh water available for soaking frags to keep them cool or warm as need be. Many people took the club up on it, but not as many as I expected.
