mnml's rimless

beautiful tank!! i love the aquascape. not a huge amount of rock and still a good amount of space for fish to swim. gives it a really clean look

Thank you. The fish do love all that swimming space :)

So do they go on the sand for 2 weeks and then you put them in their final destination? Or do you inch up over 2 weeks?

Pretty much 2 weeks on the sand then final resting place. My main concern right now is having too much PAR. I'm only running all 8 bulbs for 4.5 hrs at the moment until all my stonys get color back up.

love the setup tran, I also love the flame hawk and neon goby, but aren't you afraid that one day your goby will be gobbled up by the hawk?

Thanks a bunch Jeremy and Shorasp30 :)

I got the plumbing done tonight and also added two fans for better air circulation in the stand. One pulls air in while the other pushes air out. I was afraid of noise level but they're pretty quiet. Space is getting a little tight and still undecided where I'm going to place my ATO reservoir. We'll see...

Next I have to figure out the Apex controller and do some cable management. Hopefully I can do the water test this weekend and get the lights hung.

Your setup is awesome! I've been out of the hobby for the last few years and so much has changed. There is a lot of good info in your thread as well.

I have a 48x24x24 (Starts with a T and ends with a R and rymes with Senecor :D) on the way and I'm curious about your plumbing. What type of black tubing is that? I don't want to do the traditional white PVC and I'm looking into the flexible tubing. Any help would be appreciated.

Again, very nice setup.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate it.

I picked up some more livestock this weekend.

I also bought a 20L to use as an ATO reservoir. I need a reservoir that would last more than 7 days so I had to get rid of the custom 7 gallon ATO reservoir. Hopefully this will last me at least 10 days between refills.

this is one heck of an idea thanks for the post.

Thanks Jason. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they will play nice. I had a Flame Hawk in my 25g in the past and he was a model citizen. So far everyone in the tank is getting along.

Thanks for the compliment and congrats on the new tank. The black tubing is your standard 3/4" vinyl tubing from Home Depot.

You're welcome, glad you found it useful. :)

Is the cleaner wrasse still alive?they tend to not live very long

Do you mean the McKosker's flasher wrasse? He was shy the first few days but he's out and about now - eating like a pig! :spin3: Now if he can just behave and not try to tile surf I will be a happy camper.

LOL, that wicker basket was an awesome idea!

haha thanks! My wife told me that I can't have any equipment showing outside the stand so I had to come up with a way to conceal it. I just hope she doesn't try to store anything in it. Maybe I'll put a lock on it.

I did another bulb swap and am very happy with the results. I think I will keep this combo for the time being. It's a little bluer than before.

Looks great, love your layout of the rocks, plenty of room for corals to grow.

Thanks a bunch adddo and butchik.

I picked up a few more fish since the last update.

Melanurus Wrasse - I really like how active this guy is, brings lots of movement to the display.

BlackBar Chromis - I picked up 5 of these little dudes since I heard they shoal together. So far only 3 of them are hanging out together while the other 2 are being shy. I'm hoping they'll all buddy up soon.

Blackcap Basslet - I wanted a purple fish and he seem like a nice fit in my tank. So far he's getting along great with his new tankmates.

Looking fantastic... I like the fish you're getting!

Thanks Jennifer. The fish feeder will come in handy with all these mouths to feed.

I think he was referring to the neon goby cleaning your yellow tang. Look pretty similar.

Your tank is stunning. I started a 93 gallon cube build. Here is a link for you to look at.

Keep up the progress.

Thanks Reefobsession. The Neon Goby is doing quite well but the Yellow Tang is the only fish that it will clean.

Hi love the low profile rockwork and the feeling of open ocean. A lot of swimming room for habitats and room to grow for corals.
Where did you buy your tank from, I love the craftsmanship?

Good looking fish!
Is there a source that gives a good idea of which fish tend to be jumpers/carpet surfers?

Thanks everyone!

manishkasera - The tank is built by Leemar and was purchased at a LFS. They also do custom jobs as well if you're every in the market.

Dennis - I usually go to liveaquaria.com or bluezooaquatics.com for fish info. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that both my wrasse don't decide to jump.

Nice tank mnml, what lfs did you use to order this tank? and if you don't mind can you send a pm to me about the tank cost. I'm thinking of getting a custom tank 28 x 16 x 24 or 30 x 16 x 24 but i will not be doing a slump just hob stuff.
