Modern Reef Aquariums

A bit late finding this thread but what an awesome set of tanks. Trying to find tanks like these is almost impossible. The only ones I ever come across in the shops in the UK are the the same old mass produced ones. I have been after one of these tanks from Eheim but I have been told they have stopped producing them because there is no demand -http://www.eheim.com/base/eheim/inhalte/indexd017.html?key=liniendetail_29188_ehen

I have trouble believing that so my search still goes on for a cool looking tank!

Great forum guys keep up the good work.

Kind Regards

One of the best aquascapings I have seen in a long time. Nice job. How did you anchor the suspended rock face?

eng94, can you show some pics of the glass overflow and how you attached the eggcrate to it?
i dont think a pic will help now added a black cover to the overflow i just cut them to size and siliconed it to the top of the glass and i crazy glued the two pieces together and sprayed them with fusion paint

143gadgets, Are you going to cut any air vent holes in the cabinet ?
Why would he need to? He's got a topless tank. :)

because the sump is wet, and will need ventilation.

otherwise it will start to grow mold

my tank and sump is open and i still have higher humidity near the sump area.

Did I not contribute to this thread? Hmm oh well.

It's modernicity could be debated, but I went with a less is more approach to aquascaping and I feel it fits in our minimalist room fairly well :)

Terrible pic of the tank, but shows the room setup well:

It's soon to be replaced by an even more minimalist design, a rimless 120 :)

I don't know how you guys are able to have so little clutter. I'm never going to be able to pull that off. :o

sure you could, just dont build a reef wall, and imagine how much rock you would normally use and divide by 3.

your nano is relatively uncluttered if you dont count the anemones.

Thanks everyone! I got the tank filled and everything transfered over. I still have to aquascape and mount corals, but I was too tired to even attempt that.
