Ive been looking at an angel or a butterfly or a trio of dwarf angels thoughMy Tasseled wobbegong is still the most I've ever spent. He is 5 years old and now 46 inches and weighs around 40 lbs. i was spending about $10 a week to feed him before I started catching my own fish to feed him. I put well over $1000 down his belly. He ate a 16 inch bluefish last night.

I started my tank when I was 12 its its 4 years old now. I've never spent more then 20$ on any piece of livestock for my tank save my tridachna clam that I got for 30$ at the very end of Reefapalooza last year. It's actually really cool since I have a bunch of frags that have really grown out. Just about all my money goes to my tank and guitars though. Shaping and selling surfboards gives a little income but yard work and summer jobs are it for me. That being said, If i had any more money, I would definitly grab some awesome fish and coral.

For a short moment I considered buying a pair of wild A. latezonatus from Blue Zoo but couldn't bring myself spending $2.5k on two fish unseen.
Would they have been at a LFS and in perfect condition I might have pulled the trigger though.
...and then you need to hire a 24/7/365 security service to guard the pond or someone might fishnap it. Or a heron sees it from above and decides to have some really expensive sushi ... :debi:
Yeah, back in Germany I did that too. It was always depressing to look at all the fish that didn't make it.
Though, now that I'm married, I wouldn't do that anymore. Also so far my losses have been minute - let's hope it's stays that way...

Sorry to hear about that Lawrence. Yeah, stopped floating bags a long time ago. I find that the fish do just fine with just going straight to a slow drip acclimation. It's not like there's a huge temperature variation between your tank and the lfs tank.

£900 (UK) for two tank bred Mcullochs clownfish. At the exchange rate then, it would have been around $1200 US dollars. The largest was 1.25 inches, the smaller. 1". They are a clown that I've wanted for years so when the chance came I thought it's now or never. That was about 2.5 years ago and the largest is now 4.5", the smaller, around 3". They make me smile every time I look in the tank.
