MP-40 vs WP-25

So I'd like to get some opinions here. I'm trying to decide on flow for my 120g reef. The measurements are 48x24x24. I had planned on getting two Vortech MP-40's, but I've been keeping and eye on the Jaebo WP-25's as well. They're less than 1/4 of the price and provide a comparable flow rate... I've just heard horror stories of the pumps dying. I'm not too fond of the power chord in my tank either, but in the interim, it seems like a decent alternative to spend $150 on a pair of them and just save up some cash so I can drop a small fortune on the Vortechs. Any thoughts??

I don't do power cords in salt water.

I have 7 vortechs and am only using 1 at the moment. Still can't pry them out of my hands.

IME it is absolutely worth it. Don't forget the battery backup.

One wp40 will not be enough if it's a sps dominant tank. I have 2 vortechs running at 100% and a jebo wp40 running at 100%. I still feel like I need more flow.. :sad1:

Totally agree 1 wp40 will not be enough.. 2 mp40 or 2 wp40..if it's a full on sps tank you will need more also.. A single point source will get blocked and leave dead spots in the tank.. Fwiw in my 105 I have 1 mp40,3 mp10 and a wp40..its not running yet but that's what's going in it I'm on the edge running the mp10's though as my tank is 3/8" so we will see if they stay on =)..

Do you have a wireless heater and wireless return pump also?

I'm fully aware of the benefits of a vortech, as I have a mp10 on my 25g cube. I'll be switching over everything from that to my 120, which will be a mix of SPS, LPS, and zoas, with an emphasis on SPS. This is basically just a bandaid until I can drop $800+ on two mp40's. I wasn't aware that the WP40 would be more in line with the mp40. If that's the case, I'll likely just wait.

And no, I don't have a controller. Another thing I don't like abut the Jeabo is the fact that they don't work in unison.

I own both, vortech and jebao. The only drawback of Jebao WP series is that it has a narrow flow. There is no undertow like a vortech which stirs up detrius very good. So I put the Jebao on one side and vortech on the other. But I like the undertow that vortech provides.
