My 120 filled mostly with SPS

Sorry for the lack of replies, the last couple months have been busy. I've barely had time to keep up with normal maintenance let alone get a hold of the game. We also finished off the remainder of our basement, so the tank was covered for a bit to prevent dust getting into the system.

awesome tank!! read through the frist 5 pages and have to know how you introduced biopellets into the system. where do you run them and what do you run them in?

thanks
kyle

I'm going from memory, I think I have had them running for 2.5 years now. They are in a phosban 150 reactor and they are in the skimmer compartment of the sump with the output as close to the skimmer intake as possible.

How are things going after pulling the GFO etc?

Been awhile since I've seen ur thread. Tank looks amazing, and ur corals look great.

Just wanted to say thanks again for inspiring and helping me out with my led/t5 light.

On my 180 I'm running 90-3w LEDs and 4-80w t5s and color and growth have been amazing. Unfortunately I have been battling acro eating flatworms, so I have torn all of my SPS out of my tank and have them in a QT at the moment.

I'm currently running 2-blue+ and 2-coral+. I'm wondering if switching a coral+ for a pure actinic would help?
I'm running about 80-royal blues and 6 whites and I left 4- 420nm LEDs in the mix just because I had them. I left the whites in there so that when I do my dusk/dawn, it's not super blue. I think it makes the tank easier to look at when it's not super blue during dusk/dawn.

Here's a pic of my DIY fixture inspired 100% by u. THANKS AGAIN!

The RBs are really blue and at first, and I had a pruple plus with my T5's, and it was too purple. I've gone to 2 UVL 12k bulbs and 2 ATI coral plus bulbs with my RB's to try and focus on growth. It actually looks pretty purple with the two 12k's.

i have had no issues with GFO. I believe that when using GFO you mush wash it and add 3/4 of the reccomended amount. Same end result and being safer at the same time.

I used the high capacity GFO, wondering if that was the problem. I've switched back to normal GFO, and things seem fine.

Nice Pics Jordon, Thanks for sharing.

Thanks

What percentage are you running your leds at? As always looks great!

They are not dimmable (at least my ballasts aren't I don't believe), they are running full tilt.

I'll post some new pics soon, had to adjust my scaping again, and trying to get things re-organized and caught up on cleaning pumps, powerheads, sump, skimmer etc.!

crackin' pics!! Like a boss!!
Can you please advise which camera body you use, and which lense you prefer for taking fish shots? :)

Keep it coming, I look forward to the new FTS and scape. Here is my LED/T5 DIY/retro on my 120 that was partially inspired by yours. 2 blue + and 2 Coral + in addition to my "full spectrum" LED fixture that was originally on my 75 as the sole lighting source. I have already seen improvement in my coral color, be it the T5s or just the change in system, I'm happy.
