My 15 Gallon Giant Anemone Tank!

Anemon

Hi! This is my Pizza Anemone, which seemingly have not acclimated yet to the light spectrum (6500k & Actinic), and my Giant Sebae (for nano), and Carpet Anemone. Do you guys know why my Pizza Anemone retracts at a certain time period? like in the evening. I would understand if its retracting little bit but it deflates like into the crevice. Could it be that my clownfish is bothering him? It's a baby clarkii and its kinda rough on the Pizza.
It does this periodically at a certain time I think... I don't think it's very sticky either for Pizza. Sebae and Carpet Anemone is VERY sticky however.

Btw, does my Sebae look like Sebae to you?? It's tentacle somewhat looks like that of Magnifica but it has a white column and a verruca that looks like that of Sebaes. It's tentacle is purple with green tip on top. The tentacle is not pointy either. It's kinda blunted at the end... o__O... Like a hybrid between Sebae and Magnifica lol:eek1::eek1::eek1::eek1::eek1::eek1::eek1:

Anemon,

I'm still a SW newbie and have had a couple of small nems for just about 6 months, so take anything I say with a pinch of salt...

What you're calling a 'pizza' looks to me like a maxi-mini...? looks quite healthy to me. Can't say much about the sebae -- I've stayed away from them, having heard they are touch to keep.

Good luck!

All that in a 15 gallon, hope you're going to move to a larger tank soon. Does look like a pizza anemone to me. If it's shriveling later in the day, it is probably not used to lighting as bright as yours. End your photo period at the time it starts to shrivel and slowly increase by 15 minutes ever 3 days or so. BTW, only anemones that show in pic are pizza and maxi mini (the pretty purple one), which looks fine and would be fine for that size tank. A sebae and pizza need twice that large a tank. Parameters, information about your system could be helpful.

The H. Crispa (sebae) is bleached which is why the tips are blunt. In time they will grow long and slender. And then you won't have any room left in that tank. :)
