My 200gallons SPS Dominated Build

One year update. This tank has been such a joy for me over the past year. The least troublesome to keep all the corals and fish happy. Maybe I know what I'm doing or maybe I just went simple and more patience about it. I'm going to go light on the picture update this time as this might be the last time this tank will be a pics update.

Last August when I transfer the content of the Elos 70 into it and started off with some SPS frags.

With a little love, it because what it is today.

Miracle has informed me that my new 360gallons tank is ready to shipped and they sent some pictures. I just have to tell them when.
The new tank has a dimension of 72"x48"x24". Peninsula style as I would have to have access to all side of the tank due to the 48" width. I know this is not as fancy as the Elos. It has Euro brace at the top and braced at the bottom. But at this kind of size, I don't care about the clean look much. I just want a solid tank without worrying about water on the floor. The tank stand cabinet will hide the bracing at the bottom anyway. Planning on a canopy at the top but will see how it goes.

The external overflow box is 38" wide! lots of surface water(where most of the oil and crap) will be drained into the sump to skim. It has been awhile that I've set something like this on my own. But it was how I started this hobby. Since going to AIO system like Elos, I haven't been able to be creative on my system set up.
With this much water, the tank is going to be in the basement with its own fish room. I'm not expected this project to go as smoothly and quickly as the 160XL. Moving the livestock alone will be an all day ordeal. But I plan on running two tanks for as long as I need until I'm comfortable with the livestock transfer into the new tank.

Pics of tank from Miracle. I will list the equipment once the tank is in the house. Because of the differences of size and volume, most of the equipment I'm running now will have to be upgraded also.

WOW! Your tank looks stunning! Please take lots of pics before breakdown/upgrade. New tank is going to look sweet. :)

Beauty!!! Can't wait to see this baby all filled up..
Sorry if I missed this.. Will it go in the same location as the current tank?

New tank will be in the basement which is in the progress of finishing. I just don't want 400gallons of saltwater on the first floor with hardwood. Basement will be tile.

Your current tank is looking beautiful! I love your male semifasciatus! I really hope one of my females turn male someday. New tank looks like a beast. Awesome dimensions on that thing.

Amazing tank to say the least. Can you tell me more about your husbandry of the tank? Your new tank is a monster and I can't wait to see it set up.

Yes, the masked swallow tail is becoming one of my favorite fish pretty quickly. The male is little aggressive toward the female. But I read that this is normal and you actually need this to have the color stay on the male. It chases the female if it comes too close but doesn't bite it. My lfs still have two female, I'm debating whether if I want to add another one to make it a trio.
I'm still a little skeptical on these for nipping my sps. I think I saw them doing it but I'm not really sure if they're the one causing the baldness of my acros. I know my Majestic is definitely not going in the new tank. It's a corals nipper! I love the fish but I love my acros more. I'm going to try to trap the Majestic out and watch how the acros response with the two swallow tail. If I see them nipping, then they're are out!

10% weekly water change is really all I do. GFO and carbon change out every month or so. I'm using BRS 3 parts dosing for my supplement. I may have to get a CA reactor on the bigger tank but will have the dosing running in conjunction with the reactor.

Here's the new sump just ordered from Advance Acrylic. I really like John for his service and build quality. The current sump and ATO reservoir running on the Elos is from AA.

Wow, that's not bad at all.

Took delivery on the new Miracles today. After receiving this, it negate all the good things I've said about Miracles. I just don't understand why this past the quality check and made it out of their warehouse.

One of the most disappointing day in my reef career. How can you send something like this out!! Where are bubbles in the silicone at every single seam. Not just a small bubble but lines and lines of bubbles.
