My 25 year old Clarikie passes

Hi All,
My oldest fish unexpectedly passed yesterday. I had her for 3 apartments 3 tanks and three moves. She outlived two dogs. She laid eggs a week ago and was acting normally(attacking my hand, aggressively eating etc) until I found her dead in front of her rose tip yesterday morning. I was going to flush her but decided to burry her i the back yard with my two deceased dogs.

I am going to get another clown in the next few weeks to share the rose tip with her long time mate. I guess I will be seeing some sex changing going on

Joe

Sorry for your loss...

25 years old for an aquarium fish is a great accomplishment considering how many are killed 24hrs after purchase.

Yes I thought she was going the live forever! I was glad she went fast as like I said yesterday she was eating and attacking anything that came near the rose tip and her eggs. Another end of an era. Anyone have a Clarkie they need a home for in the NYC area?

incredible run...I had a Blue Face, Pinktail, and Huma all make it about 14 years...the Pink was just under 10....so, I am blown away by 25 years...great job, very sorry for your loss...love that you buried her next to your dogs- excellent move!

I can only imagine the attachment after 25 years. Silly as it sounds these little guys have amazing personalities. I know I'm quite attached to my little group and I've had them for only about a year. Sorry you lost her.

25 years is an accomplishment to your skill and dedication to the hobby. I'm sure the Clarkie was a member of your family too. Putting her in the backyard was what she deserved. Sorry for your loss.

So sorry for your loss. What an amazing run though! Congratulations on providing your fish with a healthy environment in which to live for such a long time. :D

What a great accomplishment for you and a tragedy all the same time. I am sorry for your loss and have utmost respect for you for burying her and not flushing. I do that to my fish's that meant alot to me too.

I am sorry to hear for your loss. 25 years is amazing for a fish to live that long on a tank. I hope mine live a long time too.
