My 540G Inwall Display Build Thread

Love the tank size, I have one question, it looks like your return lines are coming up from the bottom, are you going to use check valves to ensure your water doesnt run down to your sump in case of a power failure? They are notorious for not working that is why most of us use the anti siphon hole in the returns from the top of the tank.

What are you doing for access to the tank? Front side?

Wood cabinets on the living room side, nothing on the bedroom side.

Ok, I have made some progress on the drywall on the living room side and have completed the plumbing under the tank and going outside. The plumbing was very time consuming.
Drywall $100
Plumbing (so far) $400

I took the above pictures before I completed the running of all the pipes threw the AC return. I will try to get a picture of that tomorrow. Here are all the pipes coming outside under the air handler. I cut the door so it would still open to excess the unit. Also if I ever move I can just replace the door and there are not permanent holes in the block of the house. I put caps on the ends of all the pipes outside and hope to leak test everything tomorrow, maybe I will take a quick dip myself :)

It is room tempeture where the pipes run thru, so I think I will leave the pipes exposed. Once they get outside I will have to protect them.

Here you can see the pipes run under the air handler area, and my first fish.

Nice!!!!!!
I was wondering if you tested out your heaters too. But man that must of been cold.

So you are going to run the closed loop to you fish room? I can completely understand running everything else out there, but was curious why you are choosing to run the CL so far away.

Great job on the plumbing. I don't see primer anywhere.

I didnt use primer. I choose to run the CL outside as I did not want to be able to hear the pumps running. It was a lot more money to put them out there but in the end it will be better.
