Came home from work and noticed my oregon blue tort frag was dead completely white!

cal-450
Mag-1200
Alk-9
Phosphate-0
Nitrate- .10-.25(salifert colors look real close to both results)
Ph- 7.98
Temp went up to 82 today because the a/c wad off all day

All other acros doing fine with long polyp extension

Any idea?

I wouldn't be too worried if everything else still looks fine. Once you start to see STN or something on multiple frags then something is wrong, but it might have just been handled poorly before it got in your hands, who knows.

Have you ever seen anything eating it?

I had the frag in my tank for about 2-3 months before this and just all of a suden this happens
Only thing is it never had polyp extension or shown any signs of growth but always had decent color(not the bright color it should but decent)

AI Sols.

See my other posts. I sell OBT and have yet to see a single one survive under LEDs.

I would make sure that your 82 is really 82. Also check for swings. Alk of 8 is fine.. alk of 10 is fine.. Alk going from 8-10 in a day..not so much.

The frag might have had an internal infection, which was likely exacerbated by the swing in temp leading to RTN. The main suggestion I would make here is to stay calm. Don't freak out and do a huge water change or try to really alter the tank chemistry. I would deff recommend investing in a nice fan down in your sump, the tunze fan is awesome...tho expensive (around $80)

Periodically losing corals is part of the hobby, sometimes things go bump in the night. Buy another one and try again. Lead from the front.

And temp went up to like 82.5 at around 630 wen I got home(a/c is usauly on all day) so posably a tad higher around the hottest part or the day

I have had an oregon tort for about five months under radions with great color. Slow grower but starting to encrust the plug.
