my house reef (211 g.)

I am just wondering why everyone except for Iwan has been posting like crazy in this thread. I would love to hear more from the thread starter :) (unless I just missed a post about his abscence ?)

Schweeeet, then. Except it ain't working for you. :(

Floridot has used a professional lab to test for phosphates - so he gets the true PO4 picture compared with hobbyist tests which only show disolved inorganic PO4 at various levels of sensitivity. My PO4 remains zero on the merick test even after taking the rowaphos off line, but the browing of some sps could indicate that there are undetetcted PO4 levels. Its likely that if i had the same lab test done it would show organic PO4 too. Conclusion: Good husbandary is also needed;)

JMO - Cheers

Yes - would be great to hear more from Iwan......I'd really like his thoughts on tweaking coloration once a very low nutrient environment is achieved. A fair number of us have got that far now. I'm pleased with my results so far following the Iwan Method - but there is a longway to go before my reef looks anywhere near as superb as his.

Cheers

Maybe Iwans not around much because his thread has been taken over? Seems like there should be a seperate thread for all this that Iwan should be invited over too, to discuss these products. I dunno.....

Thank you!

I have started with fragments. The growth rate is 3 cm/month.

The pictures show a comparison of the tank. Image 1: initial phase with few stone corals. Notice the reference corals.

what is the time line from the first picture to the second picture? It would look like a couple of years.

Got a sample from Polyp labs the other day. Not much material to work with.... I fed my corals and I noticed some different reactions verses my normal food. I am not sure yet what I want to do. It's not to expensive. I may just go ahead and give it a shot.

You got me looking close and I am wondering why the salfin is smaller? Where are the other tangs in the after pic and where are the anthias in the before.

Iwan help me out here. What am I not seeing in either picture. Also a time line would be nice.

I am using polyplab with good results so far. I am also a fish trader. when they get too big and eat too much they go bye bye.

I used polyp lab Reefresh for a couple months with excellent results in an LPS dominant tank. Because of having good success with the few SPS in there, I decided to tear it down and start up a pure SPS tank =)

I noticed much improved colouration and water clarity.

King 4345: The sample you got from polyplabs was for a completely different product. That is their coral food thing. Not their bacterial system.
