my house reef (211 g.)

Anyone notice there is only two or so people that actually posted before and after pics? And one of those was a tricolor gone bad. Makes me believe this method maybe another snake oil salesman opportunity. Where is the proof everyone who says this method works. Put your pics where your posts are....:eek2:

Hi JSweir

There have been more than 2, but it would be good to see some more.

Which element do you think maybe snake oil? Lighting, low nutrients, coral food, trace element addition, stability over time, close obsevation and learning how to tweak, DSB....? Who is doing the selling?

Its worth noteing that any one of the elements within Iwan's method won't produce Iwans results, or that use of all of Iwans method want nececarily produce Iwans results automatically.

Byond the low nutirent stage - there is plenty to learn about the other elements

I'm onboard with the whole low nutrient thing, I just have a hard time jumping on board with additive systems without seeing many success stories. I am not out to bash anyone, I would just like to SEE more success stories so I could make a better decision that this may be the way to go. I believe each tank is a unique ecosystem and way too many people try to generalize "quick fixes" to improve color, growth, etc. If you are diligent with your husbandry and learn from methods that are proven for others, you have a greater opportunity for success. Lets see some proof of concept - then I'll jump on the train.

I'm using the Prodobio products and a couple of Zeovit ones also and I've seen a couple of changes in my system nothing like Iwan yet but I have hope. The problem is there are so many different factors involved in getting colors like Iwans not just additives. Each system will have to be tuned to your tank and that takes time and alot of different tests.

Other than Ivan most people posting on these type threads have been on a probiotic method less than 3 months. You know things don't change that fast. I have been dosing less than a month.

Give us some...............time!!!

I couldn't agree more. I am just watching this thread. Some of the comments on this forum however are about the improvements individuals have seen in weeks or months. I just want to see what they are talking about. I watched the bb threads for about 8 months before trying it myself.

jsweir pm me your email address and I will send you a couple coral pics of the changes. just a coral or 2 there are a couple you can see the change within 3-4 weeks. actually I could see a color change in maybe 2 weeks. I didn't say it was for the better but fast change

I'd be interested to know the date on Iwan's before and after shots to see how long it takes to get such results. He definitely has the magic combo and maybe T5 is also a large part of it as well as the DSB?

I would add that an intimate relationship with the reef based on research and observation play a key role in iwan's success. :D

here I am :D

Excuse for my long abstinence. At the moment, I am simply a little under stress.

The pictures were made in the distance of about 2 years.
I also have adjusted the fish population, therefore the differences on the photos.
The discussion: Do the method works or not, is abstractly. The thread is named: My house reef and it is about my house reef. :D The pictures show that the method works with me. About how, why, when and what I have already posted many statements and details.

I have an idea. Everyone pay for my ticket to fly to Switzerland, and I'll take pictures with my camera. That way we can compare apples to apples. :D

iwan! That last pic nearly gave me a heart attack! WOW...what a beautiful specimen. I have never seen anything like that in captivity.:eek1:

Great to see you back Iwan:)

Hope the wedding preparations and work arent too much!!!

Who is going to look after the reef on the honeymoon?

Marc - why not send Iwan your camera:):)?

Cheers
