My Leemar 90 Build.

Hey Joseph.... Your old tank is coming along!

I actually like mollies.... So I might have a hard time taking them out! I am close, so I hope to put some stuff (CUC) by sunday night.

I think it looks cool.... I will have a good cleanup crew.....
This happened on my RSM250. It went through the bloom and I added stuff right away..... I didn't do that here because I dry rock and sand in lieu of live rock and sand.

I figured the cycle with bacteria would go at least 3 weeks and well, it is going to go at least that.

WOW! Randy that is quite a bit different (to say the least) from when I saw it just a week or so ago. It will be over before you know it.

On a seperate note, Mike's recommendation of GFO is a good one. I used it on my last tank and will on my next. It works awesome. A small amount will last you about 2 months (thank god! It's not that cheap). It should help with phosphates which will help with your algae. I always knew it wsa time to replace mine because my glass would need to get cleaned more often. The link to the site he provided is where I get mine.

Update:
Ammonia - 0
Nitrite - 0
Nitrate - color was real close to zero but I have a hard time reading the colors.
Got my cleanup crew.
2 emerald crabs
6 turbo snails
6 astrea snails
8 margarito snails (from the 29 gallon tank)
7 hermit crabs

They got a lot of eatin' to do!

PnoyJs21,

What is mb7?

I am thinking about using GFO with a 2 little fishies phoban reactor....

Haven't decided....

So, please enlighten me regarding MB7.

Thanks in advance.

mb7 is microbactor 7 from brightwell. it's different strains of beneficial bacteria. Using these bacteria will lower your nitrate and phosphates =]

You know, I used that for my cycle.... I just didn't know it was called mb7. Yes, I used brightwell's stuff... used it till the bottle was gone and didn't overdose per day.....

I was running my lights during this time as well....

So, I just figured the algea bloom as part of the cycle... my other tanks did this as well.... but, not to this extreme....

I used dead rock this time so the full cycle took longer.

Overall, I think it is cool and now, with the CUC in action, I think a week or 2 to catch up!

Plus, I am going to put my purple tang in there tonight.....

Maybe he will eat some algae as well..... Times like this I wish I had a chevron!

Randy,
you're getting there. starting to look good.
there must have been a lot of organic waste inside your rocks to have that kind of algae bloom. when I first cycled my 125 the rock I bought from someone leaving the hobby had the same issue I had ha growing like crazy. but like you said it didn't take long for the cuc to get to work.

btw I really like your pond as well.
Jimmy

Jimmy,

Thanks... I added 15 more turbo snails last night....

Big ones!

They are already making a dent.....

I hope they make some serious progress today.....

Thanks for the compliment on the pond.

Your pond is awesome. I've always wanted to have one like that. Maybe when you have your backyard bbq, i can pick your brain a bit.

Great job! Now just need to get the algae under control.

Mel,

Thanks... I think it would be cool to have a Frag event there... the house is setup well to do that.... As for the algea, my CUC is now 44 members strong with 14 of them being real large turbo snails.....

I am trying!

Mike,

I really do think I am going to get the smaller of the TLF reactors. Which media do you recomend to run in it?
