My Tank Is Up And Running!!!

I know everyone's probably seen Anthelia but mines special!

I learned you can't glue leathers. I glued a small encrustation of Anthelia with no problem though. Now it is encrusting and growing on the rock. Are you sure you had the Gel? Regular super glue wont work.

Yeah, I used super glue GEL I think I would have been fine if I wouldn't have tried moving the rock. next time I'm going to put some rubble in a rubbermaid container and do it that way.


I thought it was anthelia. I guess that's why it's so special! :lol: So how do you tell the difference?

Haven't really noticed it pulsing. Does all xenia pulse?

Well after extensive investigation the green tree is def. MIA

Maybe it will pop up somewhere and start growing. Not in the sump, and not in the overflow, for what I could see/feel anyway.

IMO trying to glue a xenia, anthelia, or leather is like trying to glue a wet booger to a moving car....... it's just something that sounbds fun, but in the end turns out to be a bad idea.....most of those corals have a bad reaction to the glue, wither and die...rather quickly

Okay zenia and anthelia look totally different, and i had them confused with each other and that is why you thought you had anthelia. My bad....

Matt, you were suposed to get the ANTHELIA overgrowing the new orange zoos in my tank, so it's here when you want it. I need to be home when you guys play in my tank. We'll get your tank stocked yet!!

Got some corals from Jdsabin1 today. Jeff you're the man! Love the tank!

Here's a sneak peak. Everythings already opening up after being in the tank about 5 min. I'll post more pics later when everything is fully opened.

I guess I should have said that Tom you have a very nice tank as well! I hope you found your leak! I just got to talk my dad into making that 30gal. into a sw tank!

In my experience I have found that instead of gluing corals to a rock wrap a rubber band around the rock and the coral. Leave it for a few days and it will stick itââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢s self.

Well let's see.

I got those daisy polyps that are in the picture. I wish I had some good actinics those things just glow like crazy!

I got some green clove polyps

A HUGE leather

and another rock with some zoos and some other polyps on it.

If I remember right the zoos are Eagle eye zoos? And not sure on the other polyps. Jeff can probably correct me on that.

Oh yeah also about 10 million bristle worms and a ton of little starfish. For how small the pieces of rock were I can't believe how many bristle worms and starfish were on them!

So why do some people say bristle worms are good and others say they are bad? I have seen some pictures of some that got really big though...

Because there are bristleworms and there are fireworms....brittleworms are good and fireworms are not so good.....unfortunitly they look a whole lot alike.

Okay I didn't get a chance to take any pics today. I was to busy running all over the place.

I did get a couple fish though!

I got a clown fish and a orange spotted goby. No pictures yet of the fish, the goby just finally came out of hiding about an hour before the lights went out.

Here's some pics I took yesterday. Everything isn't opened up all the way but you get the idea.

First off here's some of the zoos. There's a couple dif. kinds on the rock but they're not all opened up yet. If you look there's a rock anenome next to the zoos.
