My Ultimate Multi Mantis System(s)

Get a drink, grab a snack, this is 10minutes of nothing but small smashers puttin' the hurt on other critters ...

What was that "white thing" being fed to them? I've seen it somewhere before but I can't remember the name..

I lol'd at how one stole the food through the eggcrate from the other.

You'll have to be more specific about the "white thing" maybe a time in the video you can point out ?

Oh those are Yabbies :D or Ghost Nippers, you pump them up on the sandy mud flats :)

They are AWESOME bait when fishing but you need to really know how to apply it to the hook cause they are so fragile...

Ironically I find catching crabs not only easier but are often more entertaining, speaking of which I am about to head out on a collection for crabs...

To hot to go yabbie pumpin' :P

Trypaea australiensis! I knew it looked familiar :D

Nice ;)

Just got back from collection, no yabbies too much effort as I said xD...

Got a bunch of tiny glass shrimp that are in the live food systems sump keeping it nice and clean.

Grabbed around a dozen small crabs good size for all my smashers :)

Also picked up a couple of blenny that got in my way xD lol...

Came up 1 really weird crab that I had never seen before and almost caught it but it got away from me...it was super bright red all I saw as it scuttled under a mangrove tree...I was collecting in different location today, so the pickings were slim as far as crabs go.

Have just moved King Krush the massive still alive...sandcrab that was living in the live food tank, he is now in the Juggernauts old tank, the only thing big enough for the giant sandy...nearly had him about a year now xD lol...

I hate not being able to go collecting.

Well there is so much green zone around me and laws preventing such things that it really isn't worth the risk should an "official" come upon me...more a matter of yeah I'll just get my wallet...proceeds to throw crabs in officers face then runs off xD....

Also I recently found it's like a $200,000 fine and 10yrs imprisonment for illegally importing coral into Australia...

Want to drop a crab in with Megatron :D...in the past he was in the worst tank to film in...yet I caught some of the best footage off him from a small smasher...so now that he has this much more open space, I hope to see and catch some great stuff :D...

Just waiting for the tank lights to come on as I don't want to disturb the light regime.

What I should do is go down to the beach end and pay a bunch of kids $5ea to run around and catch me soldier crabs xD...but they are hard to keep live for long...

Just saw a BRILLIANT idea for hanging LED fixtures that don't have mounts and cannot be hung traditionally...

Simply and easy, it's a stand made from PVC/Conduit painted black :)...

So simple...So easy to make...So effective!

This is a much better idea then my individual mounts and it will keep the lights suspended :D rather then resting upon the tanks.

Wow, that actually looks great. One of the better home made light stands I've seen in recent times. Well done.

That's why I'm so blown away by the idea, so cheap, so durable, so easy to make, and it can easily look very very nice clean and meant to be :D, rather then an eye-sore...

EDIT: It also allows someone in my situation with limited tank space above but who wants to take advantage of as much height as possible without making things too bulky chunky, originally I was a bit worried about the individual tank mounts...but this idea here...just blew it out of the water :).

I'm going to make a "slot in" kind...will draw a diagram in a min :P

It is a very basic image mostly because its design need only be very basic :) but its like a 3 stack hanging rack :D.

The Grey Represents the rack whilst the Black is the Display Tank Stand and the tanks are obvious.

Going to make it a split rack as I said, 1 side will have all the horizontals in it and glued in place, whilst the other will just have the joiners in its vertical beam, this way I can slide them together and lock them in from the sides of each stand, pushing together to make the overall rigid structure.

Damn Good idea glad I found it xD!

The lil' badass known only...as Megatron!

Well its not like your publicly advertising that your collecting live critters and then providing pix of them in your home system or anything...........

How did Megatron not get injured in this video I will never know. Looks like the crab got a hold of him a couple times. But I do have to say with this new background and foreground set up you really do get to see the full destructive habits of the mantis. Brovo on a well thought out display.
