Mystery blenny

Does anyone have a bicolour with an eye spot on it tummy? I picked up an unknown from a delivery yesterday and although i haven't had a good look yet and its still in its night time colours, it has the face of a bicolour varient but i haven't seen one with an eyespot before. It exactly the same as a ecsenius stigmatura under neath.

No but i can do you a nice charcoal sketch.

Just waiting for it to be a little bolder, it still hides up when it sees anything. I've got a couple of shots with it in its night colours. I'll upload them now.

These are the best i could get. The lighting is still subdued as its a cloudy day and it's lit by the sun, so i think these are perhaps not quite true day time colours. I also can't get a picture of the spot underheath as it hugs the rockwork but its exactly the same as a stigmatura has

Thanks

No the patterns on its body are like you see overnight in escenius blennies. The spot in question is on the tummy of the blenny, exactly the same place as a escenius stigmatura has.

It's not the pattern i'm worried about, they are night time shots so as above it in its jammies.
What i'm trying to find out is do any of the bicolour variations have the eye spot on their stomach. If they don't then i can look at finding out what it actually is.

Thanks that's the one i thought as well but it has a little more blue on the face and no signs of the darkened patch near the tail.

It does resemble the tailspot in terms of the facial stripe and the stomach spot but it is definately not one. I've got one in the tank next to it and they are completely different in the flesh.
I know the ecsenius blennies are a large group so an exact id may be difficult, i looked through everything i can find but find the info on them lacking in finer detail.
