Hey Stoner,

Just curious what you are working on. Also I often wondered why we are using RC for our forum. We could have our own domain, and website with forum for practically nothing in costs a year. No ads and we make the rules! Just a thought and I would be willing to help.

Steve

PS I actually I don't see ads here because I use Chrome with an ad blocker app. Works great!

steve i am actually working on our own site. we have our .com and a .club if you go to www.winecountryreefers.com should forward you to the winecountryreefers.club/forum/index.php gotten some great feedback and some that still wana use reefcentral so who knows how far this goes..... i have donated the hosting and both domain names for a year if we use it ill continue to pay for it.

Kudos to you Stoner! I can't imagine why anyone would want to remain here, all they need is a link and this site is one click away. IMO you shouldn't have to pay for the site or domain. Let me know and I will pay my share. Divided up among the members it's gotta be dirt cheap.

Oh I know, this place is terrible - *gasp* I've even heard they ask people to price items they're selling! The savages!! :angryfire:

Thanks, Dino. I really appreciate the RC staff. There's lots of work going on behind the scenes to make and keep this forum what it is.

Is RC perfect? No. But it is good enough. Just because it's not exactly what you want is no reason to bash it.

Doesn't sound terrible me. It's their site and not everyone is going to like all the rules whether good or bad. IMO using our own site isn't abandoning RC. This is your club, shouldn't you be in charge of it? Also what's the benefit of having the forum here?

Thanks, its a pretty thankless job. Get to talk to some interesting folks though, you also get yelled at a lot .

My club? While I appreciate the impromptu appointment, WCR's club president probably would have something to say about that .

A lot of clubs seem to enjoy having forums on here. Large audience, no cost or overhead, don't need to worry about moderating duties, etc. :)

Steve, we asked you to price an item you offered for sale (the same as everyone else who uses this site). This is a request that was a member-implemented rule. People don't like to get into bidding wars or having a price that is a moving target. It is really a simple thing to understand. However, you chose to post "you aren't a fan of rules" instead of simply complying. Since then, you have decided this club forum should be moved.

All because you didn't wish to comply with a rule, you are asking the club membership to find another home.

Correct?

Not exactly and I don't think the open forum is a place for these types of discussions. I will send you a PM later today. I will say I'm sorry for the rift I seem to of caused.

:rolleye1: YOU started the discussion that you no longer feel belongs where you started it.
Kudos to you, Steve!

I was waiting for a grown up to step in.
I'm sorry Robert that your thread ended up to this. I'm not taking any sides but this is ridiculous.
No problem I got enough help and things all good. You can delete thread if u would like mods. Thx for everything you do for the forum. I am finding out how much is involved now setting up a forum.:headwally: I enjoy the big audience we have here and no problem with rules here.
