New 630gal SPS Peninsula, NJ

Progress has been made! I finally got a chance to move the tank from outside into the house. It was a long process. Took about four hours and seven guys. Toughest part was to get it through the doorway. The lifts were absolutely necessary as well as suction handles. Here are a few pics from last Sunday. Last pic is the final placement of the tank, but it was already dark. Will post more of the tank inside soon.

This house is in Middletown, South Amboy is where I am now. soon more updates. Thanks

Yes, we are ok. I moved my tank on Sunday and Monday the day of hurricane, and then no power for a week. My luck i installed at my new house portable generator.
What about you? I know that Manasquan is on the water line, are you ok?

Thats great! We just got our power back last night and for the most part the tank did ok because of a generator. The water was about 6 houses away from mine so we were very lucky. So many others in my town were not....our beach is completely gone.

Today I had installed my glass reilings in my house with 1/2" starphire glass, and when I compared edges of my tank and one of the glass from reilings, my tank looks green!
Does anybody know how to check this to be 100% sure?

hey adam....i went thru the same thing when I got my tank. I will see if I can find the article but I remember reading that as the pieces of glass get longer and wider they can become more green. I dont think there is any real way to determine this. Let me know if you find anything else different because my edges are green too.

Are you sure it's not a hint of blue instead of green? Starphire has a little blue tint to it, but you can always see further into the pane from the side than standard plate glass of the same thickness.

When I obtained my starphire tank I freaked out because I saw gree, but then learned the longer the distance that u look through the glass (in my case 96") the more green u will see. Take a look at post #59 in my build for further info.

yep, I google it , and checked posts on RC, so looks like it will be it. So let start to put it together.
So far, I order bulkheads, and will start play with plumbing next week.

It's time for an equipment list, but what do I need? Can you guys give me your opinions on my list?

1.Main return pump - ReeFlo Hammerhead Gold (5500 GPH, 23 Ft)
2.As for circulation I'm going with 2xTunze Wavebox, if this won't work I'm going back to my closed-loop (it will be ready just hook up pumps).
3. Sump - I have no idea where to get it for reasonable price, might build it by myself.
3 Skimmer - I have on my system now Deltec TC-2560 but I think it might be too small, because my all volume would be around 800-900gal. I was thinking about reef octopus xp 8000

What do you think?
