New haddoni Carpet =D

Anemones for life
<center>its just a green one, nothing special like a red one, but thought id share it =D
got it from a local reefer who had it for almost 2 years, he said it got as big as 12-13''(wether its true or not, idk, but it has a prettty big foot) in diameter

now knowing that this anemone was gonna be super ****ed off, because the owner said it hadnt moved, or been touched in 2 years.. i knew it wasnt gonna look pretty trying to get it out
but we took our time... the way it looked hwen it came out kinda scared me a little bit, but i still took it

put it in a tuppaware container and home i went =P 20 minute drive, was looking worse thought it was gonna be like my first experienced when i had one shipped to me and it turned inside out, but sure enough when i got home and it stopped moving it closed right up, after 2 hrs of acclamating it, its mouth 85% closed, i ran into a problem, it attached its foot completely to the tuppaware container :hammer: doh!
so i didnt wanna stress it at all, with it being moved, and everything left it over night in the container sitting in the tank.. its now half out =D

i know how delicate they are, and the fact i was able to pick up a healthy one, i want to cause as little stress as possible to it, so however long it takes to get out of the container is how long it will take but its more then 80% out now =D

here's some pics oh an dits mouth is already 99% closed up tightly

Acclamation process (container in water, to keep temp, and i slowsly did 1/4 cup full water changes in it probably ever 15-20 minutes)

Tightly Closed Mouth, i must be doing good?

Very nice, since it's an established carpet you probably wont have to stress as much as if you were to get a newly imported one

thx =D im really afraid to rip its foot is all, so i figure since he's slowly working his way off ill just let him do his thing:fish1:

its 75g with a total of 110 water mass..

and black and white occ with 2 maroons (i know.. i know they shouldnt be together, but all three were given to me as a gift, and have been together for awhile now, and all 3 host a RBTA/LTA together) .... ya i know the maroons will probably push the occ out as they grow older.. but ill have another cube setup by then and if they start fighting ill split em

Just curious how close can a RBTA/LTA be next to eachother? my LTA found its new home rather close to the RBTA... i might be getting rid of the LTA and just keep the RBTA/Haddoni (rbta all the way to the left, and haddoni in middle if it finds its home there )

Green Carpet!

Awesome Anenome! That is a great addition to your reef as a new centerpiece! Good Luck and Happy Reefing!!!:bounce3:

Let me know if the haddoni moves around a lot.. I'm may pick one up later to host for my new snowflake ocellaris.. I have a RBTA but they dont seem to care for it yet lol..

my Occ didnt care for any nem until my maroons did..

this is my LTA/RBTA... my LTA moved there last night.. in a perfect cove/cave.. on a rock, 1 maroons behind the LTA, the other likes to laydown in the RBTA like its his bed with the tentacles up over him

Those two nems don't sting each other?

thats what im trying to figure out, the LTA moved there last night... so far nothing major that i can notice, the RBTA is a hair smaller then it normally is... but havent seen anything other then that, and idk if its cause i was messing with the rock in his general area

finally out of the tuppaware and diggin its foot into the sand
Full Tank shot to show the size of hte nem (thats not the full size yet, it was bigger in his tank, i expect it to get comfy over the next few days and get bigger)

Keep a close eye on both the Haddoni and LTA -- I have tried that combo twice and neither time worked out. Both wouldn't stay settled in until I removed one of them.

question for todd or any other nem expert,

if you scroll up, the tentacles in the pic below the full tank shot they are puffed out, and all relaxed, and tonight its been like this for the past 2 hours or so.. and on/off all day

the tentacles seem to be tensed up.. idk if this is anything to be worried about? the mouth seems to be getting more and more tighter so im assuming i shouldnt worry?
when it tenses up is it just trying ti dig its foot into the sand?

If possible, I would do a largish water change (( 20-30% )), run some fresh carbon, and run your skimmer a bit wetter if possible.

It could just be acclimating to your tank, or the start of chemical warfare -- but I wouldn't be too concerned yet.

This is a 1 week update on the Haddoni
i took the LTA out of the tank and sold it to me LFS
since then my RBTA split, and my haddoni looks like this now
just curious since my rbta split, do rbta/haddoni cope well together in a same tank?

im pretty happy with it :) and if rbta's and haddonies get along chemically is there a limit on bta's? i kinda wanna pick up a Lemondrop/sunburst to put by my newly split rbta's
