New haddoni Carpet =D

he is doing better *i think* ... he has been inflating more then deflating... so thats good.. but still deflating and showing his siphonglyphs alot..... but like last night i was doing some light looking in my tank, and he was still inflated.. as before he would have been shrunk up in to his little cave.. under the rock..

im still not comfortable with him though.. as he is still 1/2 the size he was before all this happened.. :(

Picture Update.

Picture Update.

this was taken first..... the mouth is never open anymore more then just showing his siphonglyphs like it is here... when this first started to happen his mouth would open quite a bit.. at some points during the day.

and about 10 minutes later.. mouth had closed completely.... this is whats been happening daily, but like i said he has been staying inflated longer... now than he had been.. so im crossing my fingers that things are starting to look up?

Bad News Bears...

Bad News Bears...

So.. im thinking of pulling the plug tomarrow..

it did exactly 100% identicle to what the S. gig did in the process of it dieing..

and its been pretty much deflated for about 2 days.. and not attched to the glass and barely attached to the rock, so i took it off and moved it into a little container ..in prep of pulling the plug, i really hate to and it makes me sad, really sucks, cause i was proud of it.. ..

ive learned almost everything the hard way coming into this hobby, but im sure alot of us have.. only thing i can say is (if you dont got 1 already) next time your looking at a sweet Frag or fish or Invert... take the money and setup a QT system.. if you dont got 1 already.. if i woulda QT's that S. Gig i wouldnt be loosing this beautiful haddoni.. ... blaah this sucks :(

here's a picture of it tonight..and probably the last pic.. i dont see it turning around from this..

Really sorry man. Enjoyed reading your posts. Knowing now what you've learned--is there another carpet in your future?

Ya, it died tonight... the mouth completely opened... it was hard to get rid of it =/
the clown definantly doesnt like me right now as after i removed it 10 minutes later i had to get a frag off the sandbed, and the clown bit me.. for the first time since owning him! ...

Learning what i have learned, yes there will still be another carpet in my future, after i do some adjusting to my tank, get some better/updated equipment.. like a better Carbon/GFO reactor.. and some better lights..i want a 6 or 8 bulb ati fixture.. and a full blown QT system..

for now i will just have to creep on Nick's Threads..and drool..

Oh man, I'm so sorry to see you lost both of them. I think carpet anemones are the most stressful acquisitions in our hobby. I have a soft spot for them too so I can understand how you feel. You probably are really tired too, from worrying for this long about their health.

I hope you are able to find a nice healthy one in the future.

I am sorry this happened to you. It happened to me not once but twice. I lost a green Haddoni and two beautiful Magnifica from infection introduced from new anemone.:(

I just read your thread from the beginning for the first time now. I've lost carpets the same way before adding with no qt. Heatlhy carpets take a nose dive after adding a new one and both go down from infection. I feel bad for you. That was a real beauty.
