you can get it at custom aquatics for 300

Where? The 3000 is $489 at custom aquatics.

They are popular because they are a cheap alternative to the Deltecs, H & S and others. If they keep raising the prices, that's no longer the case, and they won't be as popular anymore. I was seriously interested until the price got jacked up.

nikonosis- try comparing apples to apples, not apples to oranges. size wise the RPS-3000 is comparable to a Deltec AP851 or the H&S A200-1260 which is more than $1100.

If you wanted to make a fair comparison to the AP(F)600 or the A150 2000/1 you should be looking at the RPS-2000 which I have seen selling for around $300.

I also said the geo and its 8" x28" and btw im comparing h&s to pacific coast which is far from apples to apples.

I understand that the H&S/Deltec are a different class than the PCI or GEO skimmers. 95% of that is the pump. For those of us who arent willing to pay $300-$500 for a pump the PCI skimmers are a great option.

im not willing to pay that either. I honestly didn't want to spend over $350-400 for a skimmer and thats why I am probably going to go with asm unless I can find one of these pc 3000 recirc skimmers under $400. I was going to get an h&s but I don't really feel that its worth to me right now when I have alot of stuff I have to spend money for this tank.

looks like a decent price, if the company has it in stock.
btw the dual reactor they are selling is really a good price
i paid a lot more for the same one.

Yikes, Mate! that's a big call comparing these to Deltec's -- maybe in as far as claimed performance is concerned but as nice as what these appear to be , they have no performance record. They're about to be released here in Australia and I eagerly await them -- love to wack it onto my reef and see what it can do. But like most people, I only like to spend my money on things that I know work to expectation.

All the Best,

Tone :D

Ill try and get some pics up tonight. Batteries are charging.

Seems like since I switched to the mini jet a couple days ago, prodcution has decreased. I think I will be going back to the MJ 1200.

Photobucket is down for maintenance.
