Sign me up for that baby! Whohoo!

We have been playing around with the pump a little. I can tell you that one of the body dimensions that we are going to prototype is most likely going to be a 18" diameter X 48" tall reaction chamber.

We are "hoping" to have an actual production model of the smaller version here by MACNA, as well as a prototype of the larger version that will be running off of the Hammerhead needlewheel pump. I will know more on pricing on the smaller version in the next week. I will have the prototype of the smaller unit within the next 2-3 days.

Thanks,
Jeremy

Thanks Jeremy. If you can (or able to) post the dimensions of it when you can :) I'll keep my eye on the thread for the 'suggested' pricing. It may be cheaper than my DIY model ;)

Also, is there any word on if Sequence will offer the Snapper needlewheel pumps for sale too?

The Snapper needlewheel will not be offered to the public. There really isn't any difference in the Snapper needlewheel and the Dart needlewheel other than a very minor impeller change.

Thanks,
Jeremy

I would probably be intrested in something like that as well, although if need be maybe i would just look at 2 of the dart versions. This is for a new tank im working on right now Not sure total volume but it will be big.

Jeremy Is this one that is more than a few months out for production ? Just curious.

Production of the largest one will be last. We are focusing our efforts on the smaller model before the larger model right now.

Thanks,
Jeremy

Well the skimmer has been running for a week and it was nasty dirty when I emptied out the cup. I'm very happy with it. One thing I have a question about is the pump makes a chattering noise lately. If I turn off the venturi it goes away. Are air bubbles building up in the pump? It is very quiet when it's running normal but pretty loud when it starts chattering.

Any news on the Snapper skimmer? I heard from a Reeflo rep during RAP that the Snapper version should be only a few inches shorter than the Dart version and that theres a really good chance of it being ready for MACNA. BTW, what happened to their forum? I finally got to see the Dart skimmer in person during RAP and now my mind is so set on getting one, lol.

We will have a smaller unit running at MACNA. The overall height on the skimmer is going to be around 27" if I'm not mistaken.

Jeremy I'm really interested in getting on of these guys (meanning the normal dart model) for my 450G. I will be at MACNA next month and wanted to know if it's possible to order from the site and then pick up there to avoid the shipping?

I've been looking for some info I haven't really seen. I know a number of people put these on new tanks, but what about those that replaced/upgraded skimmers? I'd like to hear from those people.

Simple system specs (x gallons, heavy feeder, etc)?
What skimmer you were running?
How has your skimmate changed, specifically if it's the same darkness how much has it increased?
Did you change anything else in the process (i.e. flow changes, sump changes, different GPH feed, went from pump in sump to direct feed, etc)?

Are you still interested in getting a unit at MACNA? I will have one on display that will be running for the show, and I could offer a deal on this unit as a demo if you want to take it on Sunday?

Thanks,
Jeremy

neck size?

neck size?

Can someone who has one of these measure the diameter of the neck for me? I'm curious to know whether it is 6 or 8".

Thanks.

Here is something i would like to have someone make for me ...

When i take the collection up off to clean, I usually go & take it out into the yard, and spray it down at the same time as I do other things .. so sometimes i do not return right away. I would like to have a CAP, or top for the flange that i could just put on, and turn 1/2 of the screws down, so in case the water level rises a bit it wouldn't come over the neck. I run my water line inside the skimmer VERY close tot he black flange, alot of times i will run it INSIDE the lower black flange.

So it would be a piece of PVC (preferably) or acryllic, with keyholes to match the neck flange. solid. no holes, no riser .. just a flat piece to cap it off.
