New Stream Holder and proper use of mounting hardware

This is the new Turbelle Stream Deco Holder. Imagine it covered in coralline and polyps and you can imagine it would be nearly invisible. The Stream simply inserts into a coupler of suitable sized PVc and his held in place by friction, you then place it atop a live rock column. No rock should be placed on top of the holder.
 
Here is the holder in use in it's native environment, a european trimless tank. Before you start saying how this won't work here, and I will show you how the holder works on an Ocanic and other tanks, realize that in Europe, their are over 600 Tunze dealers. In the US, we have 12.

Here is an aquarium from Portugal, such aquariums are typical in France and Britain, Jewel offers a similar tank with tall narrow trim. Incidently, these installs are the most complicated and the new magnet holder is being designed with these models in mind.
 
Another typical design used in Germany or France. Trim is not applied to back and simply a light shielding/aesthetic device.
 
You can see how the holder was a good solution for the native market and for a German aquarist it is identical in many ways to the holders of Sanders and the Eheim Power Pack model Internal Filters. In the next couple days I will detail install mods for US tanks and how to do it right.
 
Sounds good. I got on a list for two tunze streams and am going to need to figure out how to rig them up so that they can be mounted under a 5 inch brace. I know that in my sump i have a 40gal that has a trim(i guess you call it that, the lip around the top of the tank). And i have one of your osmomolaters(top offs) and i know it is really flimsy and if I bump it, it falls off. I cant have a powerhead falling off. I tried tightening it down good, and ended up breaking the plastic screw. =/ Maybe you can set me straight heeh.

Here is the rail with accessory kit 3000.244 for use on all plastic trimmed glass tanks. Note the blackened steel screws and the suction cup.

Here is the use of kit 3000.26 for perimeter brace, acrylic is pretty rare in texas because we don't have earthquakes and are too close to Mexico where glass is cheap. Besides Oceanic is here, this is on an Oceanic 240 but the concept is the same for Acrylic.
 
Admittedly, this is a prototype pump with a prototype 3000.26 set so here is the instructions for the real deal, it is nicer than what i am using.
 
You will notice on the left side of the instruction sheet that two other options exist for this set, a simple extension and permanent afixation with silicon. The permanent mount can only be done on a new tank and for best results the glass should be lightly scuffed in the area where the fiberglass plates will be applied by using a scotchbright pad. It has to be the real deal 3M Scotchbrite as the generic ones won't scuff glass. Use alcohol to clean up and apply a sugar cube sized dollop of silicon to the fiberglass plates after you have screwed the rail to it and applied the mounting post for the pump. The fiberglass forms a very good bond to the glass when applied in this manner.
 
Another possibility is to drill small holes in the acrylic overflow box and screw the rail directly to the overflow with plastic hardware either included or from the hardware store, care must be taken to insure a water tight seal and some silicon should be used, the ideal solution is a screw, the rail, a washer,hole with screw passed through and silicon applied, another washer and a nut.
