Got this in today. Definitely the smallest one I have come across. Only about 5". I was hoping for one with a more colorful base but this one looked nice and healthy and I'm hoping it might color up a bit more when it gets established. The pic was taken about an hour after being placed in the tank. I am giving it some time to get well attached before ramping up the flow.

niiiiice.... it does look healthy and tiny! lol

did you pick that up locally, or have it shipped in? feel free to pm, if you don't want to post openly...

A local store ordered it for me. The wholesaler had it for a week and then it was in the store for 4 days before before I picked it up so I'm assuming if it was going to die it would have started looking bad already. The stores name is Ocala Reef. I'm pretty sure they ship.

gotcha... thanks... i don't want to have any nems shipped. i cover a good portion of the state for my job though. this allows me to swing into a large number of shops just to browse :)

Nice! It definitely looks very healthy. Keep an eye on its health because you never can tell with this species, it may need to be treated with antibiotics if it starts deflating. I bought a small mag last year (about 2") and it wasn't very colorful at all. Treated it with cipro and been feeding it well and now it's the size of a dinner plate, bright green tips, and a magenta base. I couldn't be happier with my gamble on a small bland looking mag. Best of luck!

Well about 2 weeks ago I came home and it suddenly looked like it was pretty much dead after looking perfect the whole time I have had it. It had totally deflated and was about 90% released from the rock. I started with cipro and it started looking better over the next few days. It has now not deflated for about 10 days. The problem i am having with it now is the mouth is constantly gaping. It looks totally inflated but the mouth will not close. It's about the size of a quarter, if not a little bigger. Any ideas? I turned to flow up a bit yesterday to see if that helps. Not sure what else to try at this point.
