Newbie Build : 55gal mixed reef

Wade, your tank looks phenomenal. Could you share your opinion (aside from the wait time) on the vidarock? Do you feel that it is getting encrusted with marine growth, i.e. coralline algae at the same rate that regular dry rock or live rock would have? Do your corals seem to be attaching to it willingly? I am thinking about ordering a few pieces to add to an existing system and they seem to be the best option.

Thanks I like the VidaRock and the corals definitely encrust onto it. Unfortunately I can't give you an honest comparison since this is my first setup and I have no experience with anything else. Hth

battling a little bit of hair type algae and dialing in my chemistry but overall pretty happy with it. I think I need a new skimmer though... and definitely more frags!

Mixed for sure. I currently have 13 frags of SPS, 5 LPS, 1 Softy (gsp), and a BTA.

Wade - love the sunburst fathead !!! Had one in my 40 breeder !!! They are very active and must be feed aleast 3x daily or aleast my did .. I feed my arcti-pods from reef nutrition.

Built up the Cajonés to pull the trigger on a gold Midas Benny from DD and someone bought it right out from under me while I was putting my card info... She was allready on there for a couple days too.

I think it is awesome. I have never had a problem with it. I run an aqua lifter off of it. Do you have one? Or are you thinking about getting one? I reccomend it for sure.

Yeah I need an ATO, I am just trying to round up some opinions. I have always had good results with JBJ products, as well as Tunze.
