Was just trying to liven things up. I want you guys to feel at home here and to get you guys to start posting away when you're ready is all.

Nothing but love for ya Mucho. I was just throwing out some oG lics you reminded me of...

thanks for the thread....

Hello, I joined RC not long ago and have been lurking around a bit and am ready to break the Ice.

My name is Ernie and I live in Panama City Beach, Florida. I started my first reef tank when I was 14 and that was 20 years ago! My first Job was at the LFS and I begged the owner to pay me in corals. Reefkeeping has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember it seems. A couple of years ago I was on a surf trip to Hawaii and I came across some Palys that pushed my reefkeeping to an all out ADDICTION, Gosh darn Zoa's!!!

My current system is a 75 Gallon and has been setup for 10 years or so.
Dual 150 watt 14k MH with 2 T5's, 1/5 chiller,
Marineland Tidepool sump, UV, & Kent Marine Nautilus TE skimmer

I've enjoyed lurking through all of your posts :)

hey, im sean. i work a dead end job after getting my biology degree  i'm currently in the "research" phase of my first reef tank. i have 125g (cichlids), 75g (oddballs), and 36g corner (planted cichlids) freshwater tanks. i'm in the process of selling off the live stock from the 36g to set up my first reef. im not sure what kind of corals or fish yet but im sure my wife will be pressuring me into a pair of clowns of course. i love the look of zoas so the tank will most likely have a ton of them

hey everyone my names michael, 20 years old finishing up my 2 year at a cc. not sure what I want to do with my life, so I didn't figure paying twice as much for my cores to go to a 4 year was smart.

anyways fish stuff

fresh water

I am currently re-sealing a 110 gallon that is going to be set up for an oscar tank. plan on getting 5-6 babies and seeing if I can get a mated pair. of course I'll only keep 2 of them

salt water

I currently have a 20 gallon tank cycling. I didn't really fancy corals until I started looking at zoa pics, but now I have got to have some! after my tank cycles you'll probably see me around asking noob questions like "is this ok to keep with zoa's"

oh hai! my name is paul, have had a tank setup since feb, started with a 20 long, upgraded to a 40 breeder a couple months ago. have some fish, and some corals that i love, 10 acans, 7 types of zoas/palys, and some other LPS, a hydnophora and ORA green birdsnest are the only SPS for now. would like to turn the tank into a zoa/acan garden.

Heyyyy I'm new here....well kinda. Not new to reefeing but kinda new to Z & P's. Hello better late than never lol.

I've noticed a lot of our newer members are a bit reluctant to post or reply, and there really is no reason not to. You play a very important roll in keeping this forum alive with your questions and concerns. So, to piggy back PufferPunk's thread, if you've been reefing for less than a year, it would be great if you could introduce yourselves. Tell us about your system and what you have thus far. The people here are very giving and always willing to help. Sharing with us who you are and some background will mean an awful lot.

Hello my name is Tony.

I have been a reefer for about a year and a half with salt water experience for about 6 years.
My current tank is a 75 gallon mixed reef. 440W VHO lighting and Eshopps skimmer. I have a 29 gallon sump and a 5 gallon Fuge.

By trade I am an Engineer so DIY is in my blood.

I like corals that Flow. Softies and LPS. I have some SPS but do not have a desire to have alot of colored sticks.

I have found it amazing how my zoa's started as a few polyps and turned into large colonies.

I have been an avid student of reefcentral for sometime. I am now hoping to participate more.

Hello Tony, welcome, we're all students BTW. Thanks for that intro, paints a good picture of who you are and what you have going there. RC is probably the only place a Wolverine and a Buckeye can have a chat together like this.

Hey, don't be shy and share or ask anything that's on your mind.

Thanks again.

Hello, my name is Jarred
I've been a reefer for about a year and a half

My current system is a 20 high and a 20 long and the 20 high has DIY LEDs and the 20 long has power compact lighting. Both tanks have hang on back filter with a Vortech MP10 in the 20h and a Koralia 2 in the 20l. I too don't like sticks in my tank and keep softies and LPS!

I joined RC for info and to learn how to keep corals and to share my experiences with all of you!

Looking forward to talking with all of you.

I didn't want to wait until something was wrong before speaking up so I thought I'd introduce myself.

Are you the guy in the Subway commercials? just kidding. Hey Jarred, welcome aboard.

Seems like you're partial to 20 gallon tanks, any reason?

Any ideas, questions, points of view, whatever, don't be shy at all my friend.

Much respect for posting your last sentence above. Good man
