Norwegian 133 g acrylic sps tank

Here's a A. Tortuosa I am looking after for a friend.

Top-down of a couple of corals.

IMG_9399.jpg

The A. Microclados frag has already established a little base.

IMG_9409.jpg

On this shot you see how remarkable color the Suharsonoi frag has. I lost the Turaki frag on this picture. Am still struggling with Cyano.

IMG_9403.jpg

This is an interesting piece. Have been out in the cold (given a bad placement with little light) for a while. Got it as a frag and it have looked like this for a couple of months. This picture is from the 28th of October.

IMG_1007.jpg

Placed it higher up on the reef on a more central space. This is from the 4th of November.

IMG_9345.jpg

And here it it is the 8th of November. Am looking forward to see this one develop further.

IMG_9397.jpg

This Staghorn also got a more central placement with higher light and flow. Looked like this on the 4th of November.

This shot was taken the 8th of November. Remarkable development in only four days!

I hope your friend give you a small frag for looking after it. Torts are very nice. I got a Cali Tort. Very happy with it. Now looking for Oregon Tort. :uhoh2:

That is nice growth and colour change in 4 days! What are your NO3 and PO4 currently? What test kit are you using to measure the PO4?

I am really interested in your PO4 level. Whilst so many people have trouble with LED's you have GREAT colour.

Thanks :)

Haven't been here for a while so it's time for some updates!

Finally got a hold of a frag from this coral I lost under the crash :bounce1:

Thanks for the update Andreas, happy to see everything is back on track !
And your pics are always a pleasure to look at :-)

P.S. Watch out for that mushroom in the first pic on the base of the acro...

Very nice. The Pearlberry is as sweet as ever...but those last 3 SPS are pretty much as nice as the Pearlberry too! Congrats on continuing to build up your SPS collection.

I see a blue growing rim on the base of your Shortcake...I get the same thing on my wild Aussie SSC frag...I thought I was imagining the blue ring on the base growth.

Thanks :) I'm pretty pleased with my collection of frags.

Yeah, I noticed the blue rim too. Did not know that was common on these :)

1st pic if my memory serves me right is a pic from the old tank. :)

Yeah, the first picture is of the one I lost. I only gave out a couple of frags from that coral. And now I finally have it back in my collection (it's a slooooow grower...)

Thanks.

Here's a couple more.

Nice collection my friend. I see you have good contacts since you are getting so many nice SPS pieces! :)

Thanks Sahin. Luckily I shared the rarest Acroporas I had in my old system with a friend. Got most of them back plus a couple new ones.

Here's my Christmas present from myself.

Royal Exclusive Bubble King Double Cone 200:bounce2:

New sump is also on the way. I've ordered one with these measurements: 500 mm x 650 mm x 400 mm (height).

Now that is an amazing present! Very jealous. Off all my equipment, my skimmer is a cheapo Bubble Magus. :hmm4:

Thanks. I am very satisfied with the BK skimmer.

Here's a few more top-down photos from 27th of December.

New coral. A. Humilis I think. It lost all the color in the iodine coral dip.

IMG_0679.jpg

This A. Formosa Stag is groing well. It's located almost right in front of the MP40 and love the high flow.

IMG_0681.jpg

This A. Nasuta has lost some tissue. I suddenly saw that the Acropora had growen over a snail that was stuck between some branches. There was a brown substance almost like cyano around the part where the snail was. And the Acropora had lost tissue around. I tried to brake off the dead tissue and branches and get rid of the snail. But now it is also loosing tissue from the base and up. Have fragged the coral and mounted it next to my Pearlberry. But I hope the mother colony will make it.

IMG_0682.jpg

Here's the frag.

IMG_0722.jpg

A. Tortuosa. This have a nice blue color, but wasn't able to show it on this picture though. (forgot to get out the white acrylic plate I use to set the custom white balance on the camera lol)

IMG_0688.jpg

I lost this colony in the crash.

IMG_9807.jpg

Here's the frag I got from a fellow reefer from this exact colony. Can't wait to see how this will look in led!

Aussie Echinata.

A. Subglabra.

Thanks Sahin. Here's the rest of the batch from December.

M. Setosa. An Aiptasia have been stinging this coral from the center of the base. Have no idea how it appeared there. I have sprayed it with Red Sea Aiptasia-X and glued over the whole it lived in. Hopefully it will die.

IMG_0698.jpg

My Ricordea Florida collection. The yellow one doesn't like the led light.

IMG_0703.jpg

M. Danae.

IMG_0705.jpg

M. Australiensis.

IMG_0707.jpg

A. Awi. I've had a problem with cyano on the base of this one. I have broken of every single tip on the coral when I have tried to wave it off. I'm clumsy and the color sucks atm.

IMG_0713.jpg

A. sp. Pearlberry. Difficult to avoid the shadow of my head with the led fixture.

IMG_0715.jpg

This over exposed picture is actually closer to how it looks like live.

IMG_0718.jpg

A. Microclados or similar.

IMG_0724.jpg

A. Efflorescens "Wet thumb" grow well in the strong flow from the MP40.

IMG_0731.jpg

I also bought a new fish a couple of days ago. Will try to take some new pictures soon.

Well it looks like the LED's are pretty good for all your acros, not just some. How is the colour of Red coloured SPS when comparing LED vs T5?

Also, what are you feeding the fish and SPS corals in this tank?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks Sahin. Well it looks ok. But it's hard to take pictures of red and pink.

I am feeding the fish with these:

Ocean Nutrition Formula One flakes
Ocean Nutrition Prime Reef flakes
Ocean Nutrition Formula Two pellets
Two Little Fishes Julian Sprung seaveggies (purple and green)

I've also started to feed with Nyos Active Soft Pellets. Looking good so far.

I seldom feed the corals. But if I do I use ReefPearls, KZ Coral Vitalizer (I also add Amino Acids (KZ or Salifert) a few times a week).

I took a quick picture of the newest fish. Sorry for the bad quality, didn't have time to do better.

Here is also one of my favorite Snowflake.
