Nice build. Sorry to here about the crash. Im transfering tanks in a couple weeks and thats my biggest fear.

Is that a greyhound in post 51?

That LED fixture is amazing! I can't believe all those SPS colonies died! I feel so terrible for you!

BTW, I find it awesome that you cut a hole in your wall so that your overflow could be in the maintenance room.

cool. I have an Italian Greyhound. They are great dogs.

Ok, cool. I love the Italian Greyhounds as well.

Yeah, the fixture looks really sexy compared to the other ones I've seen so far.

Haha, my girfriend wasn't happy, but I managed to convince her:dance:

Finally have something to look at!

Got a couple of frags that survived after a friend of mine lost his power one night. Mostly from Australia. I hope I will be able to keep them alive untill my system is 100% up an running.

Well done on making a start on the SPS again. Now that the LED is on the tank over the SPS, even though it is early days, how do you compare it to the T5?

what a nice tank. really amazing!

Wow, hope someday I can make my SPS dream comes true. will surely track this thread!

keep up good work!

Thank you Sahin. I'm not sure about the led. I really liked my previous ATI T5 fixture. The T5 gave a more comfortable lighting for the eyes. The led is a bit messy (hard to explain) for me really. But the led gives a nice "shimmer" in the water that the T5 lacks. But I hope the sps will thrive under the Orphek Atlantik. One problem with led is photography. It's really hard to take good pictures. Have to work in photoshop with all before they look anywhere near reality. But this will hopefully be better when I customize the whitebalance on the Canon camera.

Led:
+ No bulb change, saves around 200$ a year compared to T5.
+ Gives a nice shimmer effect in the water, dynamic
+ Many different programming modes
+ No heat, silent and efficient
+ Use less electricity
- Hard to take good photos without photoshop
- Must be 25cm+ above the water to give enough spread

T5:
+ Better lighting overall impression (for the eye)
+ Reliable and easy
+ Much easier to photograph
+ Better spread
- Heat
- 200$ a year in light bulbs
- Static light, no or little programming options
- No shimmer effect

Will though be easier to compare these two when I see the colors on the corals. That's the most important thing for me.

Thank you machodik :)

Thanks for the feedback on the LED: very useful info. You are right; end of the day, it is the SPS colour that matters most.

Hi Sahin! Sorry for a late reply. Have been so busy lately because this little addition to the family:

The system is good atm. I am still waiting for an aquarium for the back room. The one I have now is to small.

I'll post some new pictures later today. I've gotten a couple of frags and two new clown fish since last time:bdaysmile:

:celeb1:

He is sooo cute! I got two such frags. One boy and girl.

LOL wait till their older and the inside the sump cabinet and start messing with stuff or you find their toys inside the sump. I had to fix a lock on my sump door.

Nice photography by the way.

Look forward to the coral photos.

Hehe thank you! It's actually a girl, Vienna is her name :) I'll have to lock the technical room when they get older! I don't have time for pictures now. Sorry. But I'll post them tomorrow. Nothing special just yet. But I'm finished with the aquascape (finally)!

I got a hold of a very nice Fungia from Australia. It looked like this in june.

But now it's lost some tissue and the colors are gone. LPS and my system is sadly no match.

Here is a couple of pictures from the back room. I got the Balling+ system up and running in june.

The sump is just a temporary solution. Waiting on a bigger one, and then I will clean and finish my little corner of the room:bdaysmile:

Here's a bad picture of my A. Pearlberry from 20th of July (with default white balance on the Canon EOS600D).
