Good grief. I have a hard enough time maintaining temp when it gets over 80 in my house...

How many watts is your chiller using?

rjsilvers I'm not sure the watts but it has a three ton compressor. By the power bill I'd say its quite a few watts:eek1:

great setup and awesome documenting redox. congrats on both and thanks for sharing, been reading this thread for a few days now and have learnt a lot. i think it is going to be at least a decade or two before i can have enough time, money, and space to setup something similar but its in my life long dreams list.

if any consellation, you should be glad to live in the states. where i am at the prices for electricity are about 5x, gas 4x and aquarium stuff is about 7x higher.

Redox,

nice update. How is the heat situation as well as the "free time"? Looks like things are loving the sunshine.

Faz

Hey faz free time seems to be a thing of the past. The chiller barrel keeps up very well. I actually dropped my water temps by a degree. I noticed some bleaching on a couple of frags so I decided to try temp drop. It was effective as far as I can tell. Its funny the mother colony of the frags had zero problems but a frag of that same colony that is at least eight months old and very good tissue growth had issues?

That's bad news :( I'm sure brian could use a few "mother colonies" for his GH :D

Thanks for all of your hard work and sharing both the mistakes and the good things you've learned along the way...I'm sure that MANY folks have learned quite a few things from you in your little adventure into aquaculture. Thanks again!

maybe you could just walk away from it for awhile...leaving everything to fend for itself! all you'd need to do is keep up on RO topoff.

Wow what a bummer, hope you only leave for a nano second, bit of a shock. you have been great on RC.
I wish you the best of Luck!

Noooooooo!!! That is very upsetting I have read every oage of this thread multiple times. To bad I don't have any money or I'd bring the Gh up here and keep it going. Best of luck to you...
