November meeting

Reef Bass

colors and textures
Our November meeting will be held at Northbay Aquatics at 8492 Gravenstein Hwy, Cotati (just off the 116W exit from 101), Friday, November 13 at 7pm.

I went in there for the first time in quite a while and was pleasantly surprised by the changes they've made. Tim is now in charge and I am of the opinion he is turning the place around. The number of other people in the store backed my opinion up.

In general the livestock look happier and overall number of issues with them are down. Not every tank is immaculate and occupied, but clearly good changes have been made and things are headed in the right direction. Some new coral flats have been added.

I introduced myself to Tim and he was very pleasant to speak with and wants to forge a solid relationship with the club. He was excited about hosting our next meeting and receptive to offering club members a discount, the details of which will be discussed at the meeting.

I look forward to seeing everyone there! Let's show Tim what the Wine Country Reefers are all about.

Nice, Tim is a cool guy. If his store wasn't open I wouldn't have a reef tank right now. He got me a good deal on a chiller last summer when my tank hit 87 degrees. I was able to save the tank because of the stuff from his store. The price was reasonable and it saved my tank.

I am positive this will turn in to a good thing as Tim will be able to understand more what he needs on his shelf to get more reefers coming to his store.

Sounds great ... I'll try to be there. He should stock up on fish on that day :D I am looking for some nice maxima clams too :D so if he has them in stock and have great prices then maybe he will sell a bunch of them ... just a though

Yes! There will be a frag swap (enough participants allowing)! Stay tuned for a posting about the frag swap soon.

Just wanted to let everyone know i went to North Bay to buy some reef nutrition products and I mentioned the upcoming meeting to the owner...which lead to ten percent discount! That was very nice. As for the tanks....they need some help still, bad cayno break out and ich on a lot of fish....other than that...things looked ok. See you at the meeting.

Good for you mentioning the club Shane! They had just received new fish when I was there and I didn't notice ich nor fish flashing (rubbing their bodies against rocks or sand trying to dislodge parasites), for which I was looking and having had fresh water fish for 40 years I would have seen.

I think we all know how difficult it can be to keep one or two salt tanks looking good. Imagine being in charge of 50 of them!

Hey guys,

I have met a few of you a while back, and I am new to the club and it looks like I can make it to the meeting tomorrow. Look forward to meeting you all.

Best,
Jed

Both are for me :lolspin:

ok, i dont have a ton (of anything) because my tanks are all so tiny -- 10g is the largest i have display-wise right now...
so the chunk of gracileria i have is pretty small but i can toss it to either of you guys or split it for both of u guys and it will grow out in your fuge's surely...
and i will bring those 4 nano conch for ya :)
i dont think i can bring more than that, my populations been a little low due to the amount ive been selling...
but i am planning on bringing a water bottle of homegrown phyto (isochrysis and nannochloropsis) to the meeting as well as a bonus for someone to take home from the frag swap. i will have more phyto in the future, as i expand my culturing operation :ninja:

no problem I'll let winereef have the gracileria this month, my fuge grows fast it's about 30 gallon.

Do you want some cheto? Anyone?

corallineadam: don't need much... just enough to be able to start growing it in my fuge.

Shaneh: we can share the gracileria. No problem.
If you are just throwing out your Chaeto, I know of someone that could use it in Napa (non club member).
