I've spent the last 4 years convincing my wife that it won't kill us in our sleep and she has finally given in now where can I get one? I live in Georgia and I'm not sure one will survive the coast to coast shipping. Any advise. Also is a 40 gallon/glass adequate? I've read a lot of conflicting things on this board about that over the years.

40 gallon is more than sufficient. Glass is fine as long as it is *thick* glass (1/4"), and you put plexiglass on the bottom of the tank. Acrylic may well be a better bet, if you are at all concerned.

Getting one... just look around the web, and call all of your local retailers and wholesalers to put your name down for one. It will appear in time.

I called the LFS's the problem is theres only 2 or 3 in my area. Oh well I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Ask them to order one for you. Their suppliers often have mantis shrimps. If your LFS order them, you don't have to pay shipping.

Good idea. Just dont want to get bent over a barrel as the price goes.

Never hurts to ask before hand. The stock lists your LFS orders from will also have their price, so they should be able to tell you how much its going to be.
