Question for you... my overflow kit came with 3/4" and 1" bulkheads... does it matter which one I use?

Ha! Just so you weren't in the tank when the boys were moving it!

The 3/4" bulkheads are for the returns, and the 1" ones are for the drains. You should have received TWO kits with the tank.

Yea, I got two kits... but I got one 1" bulkheads and two 3/4" bulkhead... isn't that kinda odd? In one kit I mean.

The kit has one regular 3/4" bulkhead and one universal 3/4" bulkhead. I forget which ones I used, but I don't believe it matters on the Tech. AGA places one of each type in the box because these kits are supplied with different types of tanks.

The kit comes with bulkheads designed for attaching tubing over the barbed ends. At least it did with my 70. I did not use the provided bulkheaded and instead used standard bulkheads without barbed ends.

Thanks. I see the barbed end... but above that is a threaded area of about 1" or so. I was wondering if you could just thread the PVC to that area, or if you would need a different bulkhead?

Where is a good place to order the bulkheads?

I did that, but I still used the lug nut that came with the kit as well.

I can't talk about the bulkheads in the kit, but as far as I know you can not thread onto the outside of standard bulkheads. Those threads are there for the bulkhead nut. It may technically be possible, but I've never seen a setup that has installed them that way. You can order bulkheads from almost any reef supply shop or plumbing places. A popular one is www.savko.com

The stand for my 120 just split on the floor part of the stand. The wood split horizontally and
now I cannot close one of the doors because the floor is now to high for clearance. I just had
all the plumbing redone and now it appears I am going to have to rip it all apart and start over.
A little disapointed in the quality of the material Oceanic used on the stand.

On positive note though I just hooked up a Deltec AP701 and it is a monster skimmer!

I do not think there is a warrantee on the stands
Take pictures and send them to Oceanic and ask them if they are going to warrantee the tank if it come crashing to the floor because of there Crappy stand

if your not going to use soft plumbing, you should spend the 50 bucks and replace the bulkheads with slip style heads.

The nut is on the bulkheads. It goes on the bottom of the tank once the bulkheads are seated in the tank. That is what the thread is for, its what u screw that nut onto.

Congrats on getting your tank! The return bulkhead is the 3/4 U. You can tell it because the threaded part of it has the same diameter as the 1" bulkhead.

I received two of my three packages of rock from MarcoRocks and couldn't be happier with the pieces. I also picked up 160lbs of Carib Sea Seafloor Reef Sand and two Vortechs. This afternoon I started mixing salt in the tank.

I went to the LFS yesterday to pickup my 120 tech series and every one of them was built poorly. The glass was not aligned propery and there was silicone everywhere???? I had to switch the tank out for the ultimate since that was the only one that was built right. Has anyone else had this problem?

Also, if I look through the side of the glass on the front it is green? shouldn't it be clear if it's starphire?
