what the heck! i was wonder if you feel off the earth... no post, then i look and you are not in my forums list ....geeer! ether is mark :( dang have to resubscribe:)

Jonathan, Im mid way thru your original thread and I've come across a major distraction. www.propertyroom.com, thats one of the coolest sites ever. Im a sucker for a deal, and even if I dont need it a hydraulic jack for a dollar (plus shipping) is a pretty sweet deal. One question though; do you have to pay a membership fee or any other extra hidden costs once you sign up?

no fees. It's just a simple online registration. I hate to "profit" off someone else's pain, but the deals are good. And the search is difficult to use and get results for only the closest warehouse. I think there is one in NYC, Seattle, and LA...At one time I had it figured out.

Johnathan, I sent you a link to a plasics container company the other day. Have you had a chance to give them a try. I am ordering some 35 G tanks soon, and thought I'd check in with you first.

Thanks,
Geoff

Geoff, I did take a look but they don't have anything with the dimensions I need.

Update: I just got an IR temp. gauge and checked my Vortech pumps. They are running at 126.9F, 154.7F, and 138.4F. This is the temp. of the motor fins so I would guess that they are actually warmer inside. The one that is running at 126.9F is the one I cut the center out of the gasket to stop the rubbing.

I just got a message from Tim at Eco-Tech and they are ready to send back my first pump, and he believes it will be a totally different experience.

so I accidentally dosed my system with vodka today...well, it was the Pravda that Sherman brought over and it was harsh. :) Rick and I were a bit startled by it and I dumped it into the reef. Then I quickly poured some Crater Lake (which was also supplied by Sherman) and we felt much better. :D

Thank God for Sherman. We also had some nice cheeses, and were bummed that Sherman couldn't join us. How sad that he supplied the booze but couldn't enjoy it with us!! <urp>

 for sure. I figure what better way to honor Sherman...why drink it and have it gone than toss it in the reef and let it live on forever?

We had some Bigfoot with a sharp mustard seed cheese. And we ignored our kids for a good 2 hours.

yeah...it's not bad. I am always disappointed by "chocolate" beers. I guess becase I envision it going down like choclate sauce. BTW, nothing is "off-topic". Especially not beer!! I have some of the Alaskan Smoked Porter in the store now. That stuff is awesome.

I'll have to take a look at central market. i don't get over to your side of the pond very often and usally if i am it's around 11:30 on my way to Port angeles, or back to seattle.

I hope my wife doesn't see that post, she'll come unglued! We consider our store the unpaid research arm of Central Market. They are always coming in our store to see what's new so they can sell it in their store, and it drives my wife batty.

James: No way dude, I am trying to get my wife retired!

Quick note: I will be in CO 3-22-07 through 3-25-07. Going into Denver and hangin' at Keystone. I would love to stop in on any reefers interested in a quick visit. :D

And I realize that FTS are golden but you guys have to realize that I have a lack of both talent and equipment!

Here's three lame shots, but they are good enough to give an idea of how the reef is growing. I see a lot of healthy growth, good water clarity, and a slowly maturing reef system.

FTS are tough because the viewing room is still full of crap, and although I have gotten some good advice, I forget it when taking the shot.

Nice!

Hey Keystone is only a few hours from me;) If you just forgot to get off at Silverthorn and kept driving on I-70 for a couple counties, I could show you around...

There are some good guys on the front range though, not much to see on my side of the mountains reef-wise!

Well I have only been to CO a couple of times and it all got erased when I had my stroke.

I don't know anything about Keystone except that we are going to hole up at the Meadow House at Keystone Ranch for a few days.

What town are you closest to? Since there is really nothing to do there but drink and fall down, I may be able to get away to come visit. It just depends on how far and what the weather is like.

I would like to find out about any other reefers on the way from Denver also if you have any info. :)

Quick update:

Water params looking good. Did a water change and changed out one of my RO filters. I have been having problems getting zero TDS even after changing out the DI resin.

Pulled some sand out of the RDSB/fuge. It was nasty full of crap. It is also hard to deal with and I am seriously considering going to BB in the fuge.

Need to get a new capacitor for my spare MH ballast so I can burn in my new lamps. Also need to get my act in gear and build a filter floss shelf for my sump. I am collecting quite a bit of detritus in there and I want to straighten that out.

I have been using Kent F/2 A & B to grow algae in my snail grow-out tank. I started with 1/2 dose and I do see some production of algae on the glass, and even more important, it hasn't overloaded the skimmer.
